I've heard of some people using popsicle sticks as spacers. So far, my hive hasn't needed one.

Okay got the spacer/shim and some fondant to feed.
The fondant came as one big lump. I'm assuming I just roll it out between wax paper, cut to size and feed?

sounds about right to me as well, though I've never used it either. Didn't it come with some directions? Or maybe the manufacturer just assumed if you're ordering it, you must know how to use/apply it?

If you are a BYC member, send a PM to lonnyandrinda. She does a lot of baking with fondant and has 15 or so beehives, I'd bet she knows. She joined here too, but is pretty busy, so she doesn't get on here much.

Thanks Happy Chooks!
I got the fondant squeezed between two pieces of wax paper and punched some holes in it. Fingers crossed the line it.
