Yes i do fecals on all of my animals. It costs 10 bucks here to do fecals. I will not worm with any chemical wormer anymore without first doing a fecal count. I stopped routinely worming my horses a while back. I do fecals first and find the best wormer to deal with the load/type of parasites. I am doing the same for my goats. (Dogs and cats too)
Last year i found that my goats were copper deficient even though i had minerals out for them. I had to correct that and it made a huge difference!
I am doing my own experiment here. I am not doing this for anyone but myself and my small herd. I have read many articles written by Vets and spoken with a few Vets here locally and all agree that there is a problem with resistance to some of the well used wormers. The reasons why vary..personally i feel it is overuse, just like antibiotic resistances we are seeing. I am in the medical field, so i do a lot of research. It interests me a lot to learn about how these things are effecting animals as well.
I have a personal preference to use natural non chemical wormers or antibiotics on my animals unless i have to. Should the need arise, of course i will use what works. :)

10 bucks? Sheesh it's $25 for me! I think too many people just give dewormer without doing fecals, and it's just like the meat industry that gives antibiotics as preventative. Not helpful! I would love to hear how it works for you! I always prefer natural, if it works
