I'm guessin about 550-575, I doubt he's more then that. He's not real tall and jhm is right that he isn't too thick. Looks real "clean" and healthy skinned though.
Okay, I'm a sucker. I got twin bulls lastweek that are hol/swiss and they are just adorable. They took the bottle well and are starting to eat grain very well. They were born at 90 and 80 lbs. Yes the momma cow is alright since having them. I'll have to get some pics of the lil dolls. I knew I...
yes that was the Reading Fair. And thanks to everyone :) Two weeks ago I was at the All American Dairy Show with Anise, we placed 10th, not too bad. I had hopes of being in the top 10 and I did that, so I guess I could be proud. Always next year!
Oh bless your heart wynedot, your a brave one! lol, I like keeping milkings under or around 3 hours..Anymore then that and it might just feel like work haha..I managed a herd of 200 milkers, that was enough to keep you busy and yet have some kind of relationship with each of the cows. Where I'm...
So, I can barely keep my eyes open but I'll let ya know with my jersey calves I got a 2nd place with my winter calf and res. jr champion with my spring calf..I think IMMG has pics. Goodnight!!! lol
Awesome calf! Nice thick coat too. Oh, sexed semen is overrated. They use a centrifuge to separate the male from female sperm and it basically ruins the tails of all the sperm. BIG waste of money. Try breeding the heifers early if you want females since the female sperm are "coated" and last...
Must take mental note--stay away from cute lil peeps are IMMG's house...*sigh* it's ganna be hard not to resist on getting some new peeps...I wouldn't beable to sleep with hatching peeps, Good Luck to all you lucky "moms" :bun
Just wait till your goats call for you, omg its soooo cute.I think it could change anyones mind. I love it when my newest one calls for me and nuzzles me, she's so sweet.
Yeah, I dont recommend Tylan for cats. It will probably sting like mad and also getting a proper dose for such a small animal would be tough. Pennicilian works great on cats :)
You did a great job, that granulex is good stuff and their wounds should heal nice. Yeah, dogs are the worst because their mouths are full of soo many bacteria :( I hope they both do okay for you...poor lil ones!:hugs
Most farmers I know will use it for their cows, I don't know about goats. But I feel it is important on animals because they always have the possibility of getting dirty, and they do. We don't need it because our "parts" arn't being drug around manure/mud/flies etc all day. The cows don't mind...
Great idea, it can be hard for a beginner to know when the feet are "under" the animal because stretching a mere 3-4" makes a huge difference in the stance of the calf. :barnie only 5 more days till I ship to the fairs here..yikes! (making my lists and checkin them twice!)
