My weather is just getting his beard, it's about 3 or 4 inches so far.
This was taken 2 days ago, after we tattoo'd them, so they are green from the ink, Don't laugh too hard, it was my first time ever trying to tattoo a goat. hehe
I guess it is going to be their halloween costumes..
They are 7...
He isn't limping too bad today, he is just a big baby... I have had to keep them locked in their run so the dog won't chase him. They aren't too happy about that. But they should be okay to come out tomorrow.
I asked the head Vet in charge if I could do that, and I was told (in North Carolina at least) that it had to be a permanent thing, Tags or Tattoo's. some states will let you microchip for Scrapie info, but NC doesn't.
I kinda like the green on them, I just hope they don't scare off anyone who...
Since our goats are pets, I really don't want the tags in their ears. Ours are not purebred or anything. but we need the scrapie stuff to move them across state lines.
@ 20kidsonhill,
Wow, you are lucky... our Farm ID number is 9 characters long.... My tattooer is only 5 characters at a time, so that means 3 reloads per goat.. (2 for farm ID, 1 for herd number)
On topic, you asked about lamanchas. I found this site that gives you some easy to follow...

New job, and the wifes family is a little less than 2 hours away (north of Denver). We are looking at houses just east of the springs. There are a few with 40 acres that we are pretty interested in. That would be pretty cool... I would have lots of room for more and more critters!
The real estate lady fell in love with my goats, she spends a good 15 minutes playing with them every time she comes out. hehe
We are moving from North Carolina (on the inner banks) to the Colorado Springs area. Gonna be a fun trip with the goats, I'll take lots of pictures =)
So as some of you know, we are moving soon, and we got our house up for sale. The realestate lady came out to take pictures for the website...
Check out the last 2 pictures (and the 10th one as well)...
Thought I would go ahead and post here, We are moving to Calhan, CO in 2 months. (East of the springs) We are taking the goats with us, it's about 28 hours of driving, so it should be fun. We sold all our chickens and ducks already.. I sure miss them =/ anyway, I just wanted to say hi, and...
We just confirmed our move date, will be moving on Nov. 30. I am still unsure what we will wind up with. It depends on if I have to move the lawn mower on my truck or not. If I do, we will go with large dog crates, if not, I will make something out of cattle panels. I have 2 months to figure it...
