I haven't used it, but 1/2" pvc can accomplish abt anything a wooden frame can. Elbows and T's at various joints and fairly no penetration of urine or smell. Not sure abt price comparables, but a one time expense.
Finished baling yesterday, and might let it grow again for a second cut. My neighbor was eying the hay enough that I left him a windrow. I am using his homemade portable baler, after all. His is real thin and spindly, just abt a half acre. We were looking into Troybuilt walk behind sicklebar...
Thanks for the coffee. Took dog out, fed/watered rabbits, came in drank coffee. Now playing catch up from rain day yesterday. Have to put hay away. It was half way from the field to the shed and under a roof, but the rain did drive in from the South and made the bales damp. I am going to let...
:welcome from the Hoosier state!
Sounds like you have a lot to keep you busy. I have meat rabbits and abt an acre hay field to keep myself busy. Finally decided to venture into chickens next spring. I plan to build a small coop and run for them this year and go from there. My family all enjoy...
Glad your procedure went well @greybeard, and meds improved. I was thinking of you the other day as I sold the Gravely. I did get another Craftsman to tinker with. Now have a DGT6000 with 54" deck and 27hp Kohler to go along with the GT5000 without a deck and slightly smaller motor.
I plan to...
Yah, you're in the right place. There's lots of categories, so just explore. Feel free to ask questions and swap info, stories, and pics. If you have questions on starting up rabbit raising, there is several on here to help, and abt my only expertise on here. And, what's better for you, there's...
The grades are his and Mom's. She helps with homework, and he is very smart. Both boys are pretty smart. The attendance is part of my doing. He is hard to get up in the morning and get off to school. He stayed healthy all winter while his classmates were home sick.
This is the recent acquisition made after selling the Gravely Tractor. My second grade graduate was awarded a T-shirt for perfect attendance and 2 semesters of honor roll. He's not wearing it in this pic.
Only complaint I have had with this so far is the deck clearance is so minimal, but I...
I get the chicken math. Even with rabbit math there comes a time when multiplication has to end and you gotta implement some subtraction. I just want a few eggs a day. I have a friend that got a dozen chicks this Spring for his family's first time, and once they got big enough to go from garage...
When I have withheld food a day before processing, they got diarrhea, so nope. Not doing that again. They were stressed out and it made it much harder to process. If they eat right up to D-day, the pellets are formed and normal, and much easier to process.
Idk how to avoid stress when...
I guess it's been abt 10 days since I checked in, and that's abt right with the speed I am going lately playing catchup in a lot of what I do. I have sold my Gravely Tractor and purchased a bigger Craftsman than my Gt5000 series with no deck. The recent purchase is a DGT6000 with a 27hp Kohler...
For occassional treats I give red clover, dandelion leaves, abd rose blooms when in season. The dandelion leaves are higher in certain vitamins and minerals than even spinach.
I use a tsp. daily. They love it. I give it whole. It is an estimated pinch that should be abt a tsp. When they eat the BOSS and Calf Mana out of their feeders, it encourages additional feeding of the alfalfa pellets. It gives a great coat. IMO
