2023, Waiting on Lambs!

Didn't catch the tag #, so I'll update later with who the mom is.
7pm, one ramling, 7:15, 2nd ramling born. First had both legs back, was able to get left leg forward & pulled. 2nd was one leg forward, pulled as well just to move on, as I had to care for the others.



One of Holly's boys wouldn't nurse nor take a bottle. Had to tube feed him.
Other is a little slow & lazy about nursing. So, I'll be staying up & checking in on them in a few hours. Gotta remember to move the camera to this side of the barn...
First time tubing a newborn. First tube I found was too big. Luckily found a thinner one that worked.



Already full! Need to pull out my old panels now, as there's no more new ones left!

First time tube feeding, that had to make you nervous. I’ve had to bottle feed a few but also have not tube fed any lambs. What did you wind up using for the tube?

I've tube fed adults. Pretty easy, but I always worry either way.
I saved the saline drip set from my bull calf last year. Was going to use it for a potted houseplant, but didn't.
The tubing kit for calves was too large, but perfect for adult mini sheep.


He's alive this morning. In the teens last night, 16F this morning. Got him up, he stretched & then I put him on a teat. He nursed awhile, mom moved, but he was able to find it again.



No new ice lambs this morning, nor fresh ones to assist.

Papaya had twin ramlings. Sire Oreo.



6 moms...this spot is much nicer for newborns than the carport. So, they're mashed in over there.
Going to move the 2 baby moos into the hay barn & have space for more jugs.

Katsura is rejecting her lamb, so she's tied up. Baby given a bottle to have energy to fight her mom.
Got extra cameras set up in the barn. Working on getting another outside one to where it's too far to see with the other cam.
