Today...

20231218_155708.jpg

I was full on drooling over the city blower. :drool

Bummer I couldn't bring it home.

And, from a few days back...

20231215_164638.jpg

I had to go Christmas shopping.... Kid #3 wanted to buy the bride-to-be insulated bibs, and there weren't any good ones where he is at.

So... I went to the boat yard supply store, the "Gear Shed" ... and well... they had ZERO in tiny, tiny, woman.

So, I went to the place in downtown, and found a pair of pants, not bibs. But they are a size small woman's. They are a little like sweat pants, but way warmer, and Grundens, which is a great brand. So, I think that will work.

Kid 3 and I think alike... I bought all sorts of warm things for the woman. But I bought all tops... 2 down coats, fleece over shirt, and 2 undershirts...

Kid 2 promises me she has quality socks... and we own lots of hats that will fit her.....

Just this woman is TINY. She would blow away in a stiff wind... except maybe there is so little to her, that the wind wouldn't even notice her presence.... point being... I am terrified that she will freeze to death.

And... the tiny woman also loves our church...

As I am sure I already said... she wants to get married here, in that church.

I have spread sheets for all wedding items... hopefully I haven't forgotten anything.

The wedding will need to be planned while they are both here.

Crazy cleaning this last week or so...

I messed up my shoulder a little with all the work.... right now I am at PT. The woman was all "humm", as in.... yes.... I have been bad.

So... today no exercise at PT. I got a massage... a couple different kinds...them stretches... and now I am on the machine that goes ice then hot.

Nice!

Wow... clearly I don't post much anymore.

What can I say.....slow downsizing of the animals with the kids growing up and all.....

And.... HUGE poultry downsize over the last 2 days.

After 25-ish years up here, first encounter with a problem bear... I shall blame stupid Californian's moving up here... they are probably all feeding the bears or some other stupidity...

Because truly 25 YEARS ........

Whatever...

The chickens still breathing are stuffed like sardines in a dog crate while kid #4 puts together a coop on the 2nd floor/ hay loft of the barn. The ladder access will be on the ground when not in use....

If that doesn't keep them safe... :idunno

What??? A bear killed your chickens?? Dang, I thought a possum was bad enough....bear ? No!

Must be weather & bear year. I'm about 30 ish miles from "The Great Dismal Swamp". It's a known home to black bear. This year at least 3 bear have wandered out of the preserve, about 20 mile out and into a couple housing areas, all singularly. Unusual.

Yeah, huge chicken slaughter by the bear.

He tore screwed tight plywood completely off the back of my bantam coop...

Ya know... bear.

He also dug a huge hole underneath and into the green house....

And he peeled off the screwed down with shims hardware cloth that was over a window... for that one he had to also climb up on a run roof (wire roof over small run).

Someone must have been feeding this bear.... or leaving garbage out... :th
