Baymule’s 2024 Lambing plus 12-23

Thank you @Ridgetop, I’m excited about these lambs. I didn’t expect color, but it sure is nice. P-15, the ewe I call Granny, had a real nice lamb. It’s hard to tell much about them as newborns, but she’s going to be something special.

I’m late to the lamb party. Wow! They all lot fabulous!! Super cute.

Today was sunny and beautiful. I put the Fat Girl Ewe Crew in the new field.
I put a choke chain collar and leash on Buford and we walked the field. With a regular collar he drags me, funny how a choke chain gives him better manners. Not great, just better. I spent 2 hours with him. He was more interested in what Sheba and Sentry were doing than me and sheep. So I kept at it until he wanted to pay attention.

Finally he would sit calmly. He got lots of praise. We walked through the flock, paid respects to the new moms and lambs and walked the field.

I brought Sentry over for awhile and let him run the field. Only thing was Frimplepants being 2 days overdue, so I didn’t leave him alone.

I was getting hungry so I put Sentry back in the home field and brought Sheba over. I went inside and got something to eat. Tonight is church, so I fed early. I’m pretty sure Frimplepants is in labor now. This will be her third lambing.

@Baymule your comment on better manners reminds me of something. My niece (Californian city kid going to a zookeeper school) has a husky pup about a year old. Dog pulls her around, hard to control. She has the pup on a harness (collars are cruel according to whatever foolishness she’s listening to). Husky. Harness. Pulling. Good lord. I’m sending her a small German pinch collar with instructions. I don’t know if the advice will sink in. Hopefully yes for all concerned. Kid has no business having a dog, let alone a husky while she’s going to school. Husky. Apartment. Bored. Oh. My. Not spayed either. What could possibly go wrong.

I hope she takes your advice. That’s a big powerful dog and she needs to be able to control it.

The least she should do is train it! Zoo keepers do train their animals. She could start with operant conditioning and training. That would be things I believe they teach. Trainers are Sea World and also the San Diego Zoo use it. As well as quite a few LE detection trainers.

Granddaughters named her. I was stumped on a name and asked them to name her.
