I try to stand/jump on it first to get the bigger part of the bend out of it if possible.... and use heavy plywood.... or use some planks that someone can watch you drive up on so you stay on the plank... but the idea is to get the weight on it distributed more evenly than just the tire area, and a heavy sheet of plywood does that. Sometimes my DS can just bend it with his weight/strength to get it fairly straight....Lay the gate on hard ground, rounded part of bend up so like a hump.... put a piece of plywood on top and drive up on it SLOWLY, with the truck... one wheel in the middle of the plywood... from the long end, the plywood will distribute the weight a bit and should bend it all fairly flat.... you can reposition truck to again drive up on it, on either side of the plywood to get it straighter .....
Our older gates had the bottom loop welded more often than not... They take alot to break but sooner or later it happens. I don't like the bolt on ones as much as they do move regardless how tight you get the bolts holding them on....
