Y’all looky what I found yesterday morning! Cleopatra, of Texas Five fame, had a single ram lamb. He is a big boy, just hours old, strong, stays close to mom. I sent his picture to my friend Sarah and she sent back, his name is Sam-and so it is.

At just hours old, he has great conformation. Sam has what I call “it”. He has the “it” factor. Sam will grow into a very nice ram and I can see it from the first glance. Then add on that bodacious color! That throws on the WOW! factor on top of the “it” factor. I’m going to record him as half Katahdin and offer him up for sale as a commercial sire.

Ewenique and Easter are at about to pop. Logs are mush, full udders and bellies have dropped. I thought for sure that I’d find lambs when I got home yesterday from Christmas at my sister’s house. Nope. No babies. I checked last night. Nope. This morning at daylight, nope.
Middle field ewe crew is out on the field. Just went and checked, nope.

Sugar with the two tiny twins born December 7, was in the lot, so I snuck her some alfalfa.

It’s so gray and overcast. Got 3 1/2” of rain night of 23rd and early AM on 24th. Weather radar shows spotty showers, it’s kinda misty now.

Fancy also looks ready to pop out some babies.

Sigh….. they will get here when they get here.
