These would be great if your tractor can lift them. Free old crane mats. They are usually 6-8" thick solid surface. We have multiple around our plant to deal with mud. Screenshot_20240122-180626431.jpg

Soggy here too! Did chores this morning in the rain, did chores this evening in the rain. Goats hate it, but the sheep were outside eating soaking wet hay. Weird animals. And with the usual impeccable timing, one of our ewes is looking like she'll deliver tonight or tomorrow. 🙄

At least we're not having a drought.

Watched Houston weather. Most of the time they don’t mention my county and they didn’t this morning. But they showed all of East Texas and I’m in the 4 to 6 inches rain band. This goes from Sunday night through wee hours of Thursday morning. No wonder I’m sloshing around. Both Houston and Tyler news is warning of flooded roads.

Edit: neighbor Just texted they emptied 4 1/2” out of their rain gauge. And more to come. I bet we get darn close to that 6” or more by Thursday morning.

Holy Cow! We topped out at "only" 1.07 inches. Every bit of it is still on top of the ground because we hadn't dried up from the 3 inches we had a while back. Right now radar looks like we may be spared the brunt of it this morning - but unfortunately we know that can change. You may need a boat!

Front porch pictures to compare to last night. There has been some times when the gully washer let up enough to let water drain off and soak in.

And where does all that water go?

Middle field.

End of driveway.

Pond is full.

And overflowing.

So the rain that make a lake out of the middle field last night drained into the pond. The pond drained the overflow into a low place that drains to the road. Line of T-posts on the right is my property line.

The water above flows through the fence.

Then it flows through my culvert and joins the water flowing from the front field
