OK - ignore my pic request in the Coffee thread. Congrats on the new girls.
I should be checking out some sheep a friend has as soon as her hubby and I can schedule it. She took a very bad very nasty fall from her horse (lots of prayers from many are truly making a difference).

I have a lot of things in the works. First thing to do is widen the driveway entrance. It is a narrow, sharp 90degree turn off the road I live on, which takes a sharp 90 degree turn right opposite my driveway. Anything over a 20’ trailer isn’t gonna make that turn into my driveway. Son has to go around the bend and go turn around in a neighbor’s place and then it’s a straight shot into my driveway. Leaving, he has to take the straight shot down the road to the neighbor’s to turn around, then come back and make the turn in the road.

The county will set a culvert and add it onto the inadequate one I already have, I just have to but the culvert. There are 2 mailboxes at the end of my driveway, mine and somebody else’s. By Federal law, I cannot move the other mailbox.

The other mailbox goes t the land locked properly behind me. Bennet’s grandfather gave access to the great grandfather of the present owner, many, many years ago, thus the private road that is my address also. It’s a real screwy set up. Bennet still owns the land on the north side of me, where the private road is.

Nobody lives there, but a cousin of the owner used to live in the run down house and still gets mail in this mailbox. She shows up periodically to get her mail. I got her phone number from Peggy and spoke to her, explaining the situation. She called her cousin and told him. Cousin the owner doesn’t get mail here. She called me back, gave me his number, I called him. He lives in Houston and rarely comes up here. We chatted.

Upshot is, he’s going to call the Kennard Post Office on Monday and see if he can “hire” a local contractor ( me) to move the mailbox. If that’s agreeable to Federal law, then I can move the mailbox.

So far my searching for LA-200 all are out of stock - or CA requires and Rx.

I haven't been able to buy ANY antibiotics in California. No one would ship to California for the past 2 years either. California was one of the first to require prescriptions for the most basic meds. I have to buy all mine in Texas or when I travel outside CA. I plan to pick up some more while I am here. Now there is a limit of 2 bottles of Penn at Atwoods. I got 2 large bottles of LA 200 in Tennessee, along with the mastitis tubes last year. I need to get more mastitis tubes & Penn before leaving TX since a lot of places will stop reordering knowing they can only sell with prescription.

@Ridgetop and her DH will be here soon. I had to make a hard decision. Do run around in a frenzy, wiping down everything and cleaning, or get on my tractor and mow where I’m going to build a small barn, so I can proudly show them the location?

Mow barn location won. Plus I mowed the driveway. Weeds in the center were dragging on the bottom of my car. If a squirrel could do $625 in damages, what could a clump of weeds and a water filled muddy hole do? Car might be safe now.

They will be here in n hour and a half. I need a shower. Sweep floor, put the sheets that are still on the dryer on the bed, and I KNOW they will be MUCH more impressed with my mowed barn spot. Too bad I don’t have time to measure, pound stakes and tie that lovely surveyor tape on them. Darn floor sweeping and bed making are cutting into my important stuff!

It sure was nice to be back in Marigold’s tractor seat. It’s been over 2 years.

Going to cut fence at the wooden post, take down about 40’ of wire and T-posts and roll wire out of the way. Then a dump truck can get in to dump dirt. Have to build it up, it’s a soggy mess.

DO you want all dirt or would it be better to have some stone once you get it kinda to the level you want?

I don't know about there - but here stone would be good.

I really don’t know. A crushed concrete pad with dirt on top might be best. Or maybe I can just raise it enough with dirt.

It’s pouring now. Sheep and dogs are crowded into their shelters. Mud was just starting to dry up. Back to mush mud and poop soup.
