Who's your daddy???? Ya got so many now, I can't keep track
That’s a nice problem to have.

I’m realizing that it’s time to switch to a numbering system, I can’t name all of them. I’ve got paperwork spread out on the table, working on DOB, parents, etc. it’s time to get sheep recorded for the grade up program. I’m getting organized. I’m HOME now and finally getting my act together.

We only have around 15 that have names and that's only because they told me what their name is (and I still can't define how they do that) :). The rest have numbers but Teresa expects me to know who the others are along with their youngun's so that works for us. She keeps a pretty detailed log but it usually relies on me knowing who is who and right now we have close to 60 sheep here so as long as my memory doesn't start to go, we are good. Most people use the year followed by a lambing number on the tags but we just keep adding numbers sequentially.

In for a morning break. Was outside before 6:30 AM. Let ewes and lambs out on field with Sheba to guard. Sentry and Buford stayed in pen with Cooper and girls.

I got son’s Hustler zero turn mower out. YAY! I cranked it and backed it out. Now…… how to engage the mower? I watched YouTube video and figured it out. I mowed. Sheep did a great job all week, but Baha’i stems were sticking up. It doesn’t look as good as when my son mows, but it’s better than it was. I moved my tub garden, mowed where it was.I mowed the front fenced yard, sorta.

I got diesel yesterday, so put some in the mule. Didn’t realize the spout leaked until I saw the puddle on the ground-and on my jeans. Crap. Just what I didn’t need. Oh well. I got a half tank in the mule and half tank in the tractor. I can’t lift a full 5 gallon diesel can, so only fill half full. I miss my big diesel fuel tank! I’ll get it set up some day. I took a shower to get the diesel off, jeans stink, threw them outside. I think I’ll soak them with Dawn in a bucket.

Clean clothes, smell better, ice water break. Gonna take tractor, chain around a wood post at end of driveway and pull it up-maybe. I may have to dig it out some, dunno if my 23 horse can pull it. Just doing piddling stuff. Leaving at 3:30, going to Livingston to have dinner with friends and watch an Elvis impersonator show., at The Whistlestop Cafe, downtown.
