We are getting much of that also. It is supposed to get up to 100 tomorrow.

My sister said the weather liars predicted the heat dome is supposed to move off Texas and go share its misery elsewhere, starting next week. It’s supposed to get back down to our “normal” for this time of year-90F to 94F .

Good because we will be coming out after July 4th. Was considering waiting until July 15 for DGS1 but he is taking some extremely complicated calculus class at UCLA on Sundays and doesn't want to miss. DD1's suggestion that we leave after the class on Sunday and return by the following Saturday was ridiculous. We will leave around July 6. Lots of work to do when we get there. Not only do we have to cut all the overhanging branches from the neighbor's property, but I have to unload all the boxes and large plastic tubs of housewares, so I can bring the tubs and boxes back to repack. LOL

We got 3 pieces of half rotted OSB tore off.

Wow……. Just wow. My rafters are 2”x2”. Cheap, cheesy 2x2 for rafters?? There is is, I live in a sh!thole! I am not only trailer trash, I’m TRASHY TRAILER TRASH! Hahaha!

At the end of the 2x2 rafters, 4 had rot. I had an actual 2x4, ripped it in half and cut pieces that we screwed next to the original rafter. We got the plywood put down, nailed in place. Neighbor is coming back in the morning, he and I will replace the other 2 pieces and scab in some more of those whalloping big rafter pieces, and fascia board too.

While the 2 guys were nailing down the plywood, I pulled tarps back in place. Roof is covered back up. It’s hot, start again in the morning.

You are awesome. I remember when I could do stuff, what a great feeling that was, never knowing autoimmune disaster was right around the corner for me. I hope you can still swing your hammers and shovels into your 80’s ( but no longer have to 😝 )

WOW! 2x2's? Is that even legal? I thought those prefabs had to be built to HUD regulations. How close together are the 2x2's placed?

Well at least when you are finished it will be dry. Are you adding insulation while you have the roof off?

No not adding insulation. It has insulation. Yeah, 2x2’s. I half expected it but I’m sure dismay was on my face when we opened it up.

Thank you! I want to keep going until I get feeble enough to get in the way and be annoying. LOL
