but I found out at 3 PM today that it is coming in tonight with a low of 26 and high of 32. So I had to step it up.

My plans were to cut the water off tomorrow evening and open faucets to drain pipes.
I wondered if we needed to turn off water while living in the house and you answered it.
I am thankful for electric in my barns and the electric tubs. Even heated water from one to dip into. How far to an outlet for an extension cord?

First priority will be propane generator - I think second priority will be running electricity to the barn so we can use water bucket heaters.
I’m sure glad Texas winter lasts a week or less!
Thank you God! 🙏

@Ridgetop your house is on a slab with no exposed pipes. The earth and slab on top of that are insulation. Unless pipes are in the ceiling. Then forget what I just said. My house in Livingston had pipes in the ceiling and one day while we were at work, a pipe busted. Merry Christmas to us!

In Lindale, we were in a Doublewide set on blocks but underskirted well. It got down to -6F in 2021, we let faucets drip and no pipes froze or busted. So you would probably be ok dripping faucets in the house.
