Is that Bennett and Peggy’s house across from you where the road turns right?
Go back to first picture, the road takes a slight curve, they are in that curve. There is a row of sheds that you can see the roof on. Their single wide is on the other side of the sheds.

I think I need a new rain gauge. I don’t think I’m getting an accurate measurement. It rained more last night. Was gonna go get feed this morning but I’ll wait until tomorrow. Give the road a chance to drain off, there’s a couple of places that will be sketchy. Neighbor at end of the road drives a logging truck, I’ll let him go in and out, to pack some ruts down.

Oh, they are to the right of you. I always pictured them to the left of you.

Whose house is in the second picture then?

Checked rain gauge, got 2” of rain yesterday and last night. Sun is out, wind is blowing hard, that will help dry up the mud. Ewes and lambs are on front field, Cooper and crew are on middle field. Not going outside to play today! It’s cold and windy.

The artic blast is swooping down on the country and Texas is included. Oh joy. It was supposed to hit hard tomorrow night and be in the 50’s tomorrow but I found out at 3 PM today that it is coming in tonight with a low of 26 and high of 32. So I had to step it up.

My plans were to cut the water off tomorrow evening and open faucets to drain pipes. So I spent today getting prepared. I have 4 buckets of water in the bathtub for flushing toilets. I have a big black tub outside, full of water, I can break ice and dip out water for sheep. I have all my big pots full of water for cooking, washing hands and boiling to dump in the 2 new buckets to carry out and pour in sheep buckets to melt ice. I grilled a skirt steak and pork ribs today. I made a batch of eggnog and used Armaretto instead of bourbon. Best I ever made! @Bruce you should try it! I gave a quart to my neighbor and kept an almost half gallon for myself. Enjoying it now. Because the Armaretto is sweet, I only added 1/4 cup of sugar to the eggnog. Been a busy day, I’m tired. I m on my second cup……

So I scooted outside to get busy. Fed dogs, fed sheep, fed horse. Took hog panel down that is part of my working chute so I could get to the hay bale. Was planning on setting a bale tomorrow but suddenly it’s going to be freezing and sleeting. There was still 4 layers of good hay on the bottom. I pitchforked it all out. Some to Coopers side, some to the ewe and lambs side. After I set the new bale and put hog panel back in place, I put the hay in the shelters so the sheep would have more bedding . It all took me 3 hours, lastly I cut off the water.

I came in and ate supper. Folded clothes, made bed with fresh sheets. Took a bath from a pan of water. I’m done.
