It’s Monday frozen morning. Water is cut off, propane heater is on and I’m on my second cup of coffee. Not much activity outside, that is good. Sheep are mostly snugged down staying warm in the hay and pine shavings I put down for them. Will start sleeting sometime this morning. In a little while, I’ll put on every article of warm clothing I have, LOL, and go outside to do chores.

I did chores this afternoon, started at 3:00. Thought I was doing good, not. Top hinges turned loose on door to the portable building. I was trying to hold door up, and screw hinge back in, the bottom hinge turned loose and door fell off. Door frame is rotted. So I stretched a tarp across the doorway. I said cuss words. Sheep and Anatolians got good drink of water, I got two more pot of water on the stove, I’ll take it and pour in their water buckets when it is boiling.

I made hot chocolate this morning. It was good, got some left. Took a quart jar to Peggy and Bennett. Carson rode in the mule with me.

It’s cold out there. I couldn’t take my gloves off for very long.

Sentry wanted in with ewes and lambs again tonight. Dogs and sheep have disappeared.

I took round #1 of boiling water out to sheep. Busted ice for horse and other tub so I could dip water for round #2 of boiling water.

The new and not so improved tarp door.

I untied the side so I could crawl in. Not easy to do with 40# of extra clothing.

No, I’m not closing it back up until after I feed tonight.

Sentry found a wind break.

Sitting inside waiting on pots to boil. Then I’ll refill and do it again. This sucks.

Did Round #2, pulled hay for sheep. Carson did NOT want to go back outside. This is my buddy, my sidekick, my He’ll No I’m NOT going out again in that COLD!! As I carried buckets of boiling water down the steps, he looked around and realized weather hadn’t improved and slunk back in. 😂❤️😂

Pots are back on the stove for Round #3. Having a piece of cornbread for breakfast. The sun is actually peeking out!
