Changing your entire "self" for 2 days, off the on...😳Nope! Nights for 3 month, days for 3 month -- I'd not like but could adjust. 2 on/2 off you just have to give it up and stay pretty much on that schedule. 🥴😫

When kids were school age, I worked full time. Usual rush home, fix dinner, help homework, get them to bed. THEN housework got done. I swear, even after they were out, that night schedule for housework stuck!!! Hard to switch a habitual schedule.

Mon night/Tues am activity:

My Beamer is broken. Nobody here tonight seems to know exactly what's going on but there are pieces all over. Some big repair/maintenance I assume. I thought that I would take the opportunity to give it a really good cleaning but I was told to not touch it until they finish. Soo, tonight was 5 hrs of cleaning the break room. Washing walls, air vents in the ceiling, scrubbing the floor, trying to clean the baseboards, thick scum around all the door knobs, fridges & microwaves 🤢, tables & chairs, coffee station, etc.
Then cleaning about 100 little wheels that someone on day crew had removed from the middle of the Beamer & set on a work table. They'll probably be mad in the morning that I finished it for them..
Then the entry & guest check-in area & safety notice board.

It's 3am. I'm bored. The supervisor said to keep in mind that I've got 12hrs tomorrow so I had better leave something.... 🙄

I'm super grateful that they aren't sending us home. 4hrs to go.

There's an opening on day shift!!!!

It's not my old team ☹️ and it would be primarily working in the creel - being the relief Beamer operator for breaks & lunch & days off.
.... but... the creel is a more active position - LOTS of walking & reaching. And I'd be switching back & forth for breaks & lunches with a very experienced Beamer Op so I'd have lots of opportunities to pick up more tips & tricks.

There's also a position in a different part of the plant making fiber. Kind of like the step before it gets to the Creel/Beamer. And that one is week days!

I put in for both!
🤞
