Y'all got a lot done!! Nice to have friends to help. That pool is gonna take a LOT of water 🤣 will be fun after.

Slept until 7... No rushing out today. Worked jobs 4 days last week and will 4 days this week. It'll be busy until mid September, then slack off again. Vendor resets. So a month of 40-50 hr weeks, decent hay $.

I don't have any big jobs on farm today. I'll rest up, do chores and refill water several times. Triple digit heat day, feel like of 108-110. Everyone will drink up and lay in the shade. 🤣. We probably have rain coming in Mon & Tues, late day storm stuff. Couple hrs worth normal. We'll need it with this heat drying things.

Enjoying my wake up coffee 😁

What breed are your sheep? Those thunk/cracks when they hit heads can be something.

Painted Desert sheep. A hair sheep. There’s a history on the internet. I don’t register mine anymore although I think they can be if the rules haven’t been changed. I have a couple of black belly ewes and would love a horned black belly ram lamb as a replacement ram.

Oooh -- eye candy for sure 😁 look pretty fleshy, also. Thinking freezer fill.

I'm always tempted to buy a couple sheep for butcher -- usually when I buy a package of lamb chops and gasp at price  but I don't eat a lot of lamb and raise meat goats, so that's what will go to freezer instead. Sure I'd eat more lamb IF I had more 👍 still enjoy a great steak but, not raising a cow right now. $25 for a steak costs less than feeding the cow!!!

We learn to cook with what's available. :idunno

Like -- I just had a scrambled egg. I don't really "like" eggs all that much but, green pepper and onion sauted before adding that egg makes it tolerable. 🤣. I have a lot of chickens...they keep bugs waaay down. Eggs happen. I give most away.

One of my black belly crosses. My sheep aren’t miniatures but they aren’t big, ewes 75- 85lbs. Rams around 90lbs. They don’t need a lot of feed and are easy for this old lady in training to handle (usually). They are tasty as adults, in fact the lambs aren’t really good candidates for dinner they just aren’t big enough. I think of them as a rustic breed and when we lived nearer to the city we had a lot of ethnic customers who mentioned similar animals in “the old country” and missing the flavor.

It isn't hard to become an "old lady"....nope it just happens! No training. Now how you handle it is the definitive difference in enjoyment. I like to think I'm doing ok. I'll admit the grey hair and wrinkles often get offers of help loading feed 🤣. Say thanks & enjoy it. After all, you have to unload it all at home yourself!! 😱😂 but, they don't know.

The animals don't see the color and wrinkles -- nope, no compassion there. But, I don't let them get by with a lot and I can still snatch them around pretty good. They learn as smaller babes and don't realize they could take me down as adults. The boys, a smack with a stick makes them think harder about misbehaving.

I do have an attitude of in charge! :old and so far, all my joints are originals parts, still working well. That's critical.

PLUS....I'm in my "prime".:lol: living forever, maybe slower.

I'm with you 1 million percent. Except for a few "bionic parts" ..... a little slower some days... but A WHOLE LOT SMARTER.....
Yep, I let them load things for me if offered... like you, I gotta do it at home as usually no one is around to help... although I can get pi$$y about some help some days... like with the rolls of wire off the truck... but no equipment here at the house like yours is at least there at your house...
You learn to pick the battles and accept the extras even if you don't "need the help"....

You do alot more than I do in some ways, I admire your getting done so much by yourself.... truly I do...
