Up early, lightning!!! Very rare here VERY.
Breakfast done and coffee done but that was after the 5:45 Amazon guy OPENING the chained gate. Walked him to the sign and he would not read it. Not even the first word STOP. Claimed his English wasn’t good. Yeah - right - except for a slight accent his English would pass any high school test I even took, and certainly any that might exist today. So how did he even get a driver’s license!
It’s going to be one of those days. Fog just lifted, got to let the sheep out and I have a date with the weed whacker.
Put a padlock on it. Inconvenient for you... but will stop them. Simple chain, padlock and one sign that says not a through road by order of the sherriff's dept.

Or better yet, chained and padlocked... Crime scene, unidentified body found, DO NOT ENTER.....

No coffee yesterday as we had to leave early for the 4 hour trek to town. One of the big problems is that this leaves no opportunity to tire Fen out so when we go to a cafe for breakfast he is practically manic.
Yesterday was a particularly trying day as he felt the need to point out that I had something that smelled good and I wasn’t sharing, with one mighty bark.
Then he was compelled to do the same thing to point out another dog in the feed store.
At the Dr office he tried to eat the carpet. 😳
The nurse asked if my bp was always this high. I explained that no, it was not. It’s just caused by my Service Dog. 😬
At dinner, he looked up at me from under the table with that mischievous look and I knew he was planning to do the same in the Mexican restaurant.

He has a bad habit of back talking when I tell him “no”. We had a rather lengthy argument in the bathroom. I’m sure people wondered what they were hearing.
Afterwards we went to Winco to purchase the rest of our groceries. He was a good boy, finally, until we left and he decided to leave an emergency pee puddle on the sidewalk in front of the exit. :he
At least he knew not to go in the store.
He found it all rather exhausting and literally passed out in front if the AC on the way home.

This mornings coffee is from my last big can in cabinet. 🤔 added that to shopping list. I'll watch sales and stock up for winter.
Decided to pack upper cabinet in hall. Found 13 cans of coffee left from Covid hoarding. Packed
12 to take to Texas.

We had deadbolts installed on our wrought iron gates on either side of the house into the yard. They are keyed to the front door deadbolt. All other gates are only accessible from the hillside where no one wants to go without mountaineering equipment. They are chained and padlocked just in case.
At the Dr office he tried to eat the carpet. 😳

A beautiful 62 degrees today. I slept fitfully through another barkfest and nearly through breakfast. I’m wondering if we have a bear in the neighborhood. Or if the Bigfoot decorative bric a brac I notice on garage doors, ranch gates etc is actually cautionary. 😮

I think I can find a padlock somewhere, if not it’ll have to wait until I go down the hill.
When we found this property there was a steel cable across the road, private property sign and a rusted old padlock - but on closer inspection the lock was to a bent length of chain that worked like a hook. You had to actually put hands on the lock to know that. Thinking maybe I can do that. It’s such a PITA though. No Trespassing sign for the gate was ordered Monday.

Cooled down to 103 today. Garden is struggling; so are all the other new plantings, even tho we water every day during this heat wave.

Went to the dermatologist on Monday; mamo yesterday, and a not great haircut today. Trying to take better care of myself. Now I need to find a dentist up here that takes Medicare.
