That's a HUGE hog. Almost as scary as a grizzly if it was after ya!!! Hunting can be dangerous AND work. Imagine hauling that rascal outta nowhere??

@peteyfoozer the tree pics are beautiful -- as pics, of course. Sorry you're hurting. My friend has been having RA flares this weekend...painful.

While everyone is eating nicely on their outside racks...I snuck hay to their inside racks. Plan is they get FULL outside and when rain runs them in, they can chew...leaving inside hay for later. .

Hope they read the memo!! I'm not doing the rain late day. . Let's see, fasting overnight is good?

I've gotten absolutely obsessed with my steaming cup'a evening decaf.

It's been raining steady since about 1pm... forecast says it'll keep up until about 7am.

As to goats, yeah...they stayed pretty much out of barns until rain. Whatever they ate then, not out to check! . No one will starve.

My girls have a fresh round bale in the feeder. I ran out about 5:00 & dumped cubes in the pasture feeder so I could run back inside without waiting to let them out of the stalls.
Sloshed & soaked nearly to my knees from the yard splashes.

Hey yall - just tossing this out there... may not even result in anything.
A good friend's husband passed away suddenly this past Monday. They have a decent sized herd of goats that were mostly his retirement project. I don't know what breed - if any specific breeds - but I think she will be looking to downsize the herd quickly to something she can manage on her own.
If anyone would be interested, I can get info & picts.

Only auctions are Courtland & Blackstone. That's no price guarantee but, done deal. The breed & condition -- bred, weight, age, sex, etc -- makes a difference in prices and bids. Would be nice if she knows anything about them, even to use something like craigslist. If "his" project, she may or not have been involved OR she may be very hands on and involved. I'd be glad to help if she needs input or just someone to look at them and talk to her about what's there. I think it's 1-1.5 hr away, an easy drive.

@canesisters do you know her involvement with the animals? They have a trailer to haul? If she even wants to sell any? I'm sorry for the loss of her husband.

Rains moving out! Almost 3" left behind

I'm having ....showered, dressed, had breakfast. I'll put my farmers onesies on, toss hay, then leave for work. Dark & wet -- not fun for chores . But, it's warm! 53*
