Fen is belly deep and thinks snow zoomies are the bomb!
Two more days of snow predicted and high winds tonight.
Coming down with something again. Throat sore. Add that to my regular reaction to weather. Gonna need to drink coffee through straw 😂

Wow @peteyfoozer ...white stuff!! Pretty but, sure not my thing.🥶. There is a very small chance we'll see a few flakes this week. No accumulation. Ground is too warm. I'm Sooo thankful! 😂. The winds are tough with cold night temps around here. No doubt, it's far worse out there in your area 😳

Seeing the double digits BELOW zero out west -- YIKES !

@Baymule it's gonna be a full week of mostly inside days here. Between cold temps, hateful winds, light rains that freeze on roads at night for crazy drivers to skate on, you can bet 1) I'll be crazy inside. 2) I'll be glad there's no work assignments. 3) I'll be doing chores, not much else.

🤔 Might be a week to can some of these sweet potatoes. Notice, I haven't mentioned cleaning the house? 🤣🤣. Need to add that in. ❄️😖 I have several pounds of pecans to shell, too. Maybe I'll get taxes filed, too......see that list forming??? 🤐

Fen is no longer practicing extortion, which is a great relief. Instead he sits at my feet and quietly repeats a little “ooo” “ooowoo” until I wake up, get a kiss, then he brings me his bowl to fill. Big improvement over being buried in shoes, skivvies and random purchases. Not as good as sleeping in, but I’ll take what I can get.

Good morning all. Lambs ok. Tissue skin of ice on in-barn water. Outdoor water about 1/2 inch of ice. Chickens ok. It looked like a coup at the coop last night when two roosters jumped Cogburn. In true Cogburn style he hammered both and flogged Hubbs for good measure. I had to retreat to the house to laugh. Freezing mist has started. We are as prepared as we can be.

Ice forming on water tubs. Weather apps say it’s 34. Car temperature on dash says it’s 32. Probably lower for ice to be already on the water buckets.
Went to church, then went to sister in laws for lunch. Just got home. I’ll go out and feed at 4.

Well it's coming my way-- but today it's 51 right now. Tomorrow lower 40s, flirting with freeze both nights. Then Tuesday it's all over...30-40 days and teens to low 20s all week. Hey, it's winter! 😖 Jan/Feb our worst. So today I heavy bedded all barns with chopped straw, stocked up on plenty extra since it'll go fast from stores. Brought in extra feed, moved some hay into storage closer to each barn. Tues I'll get another trailer full, tarp tight & I'll be good for quite a while...in case that darned white stuff slides in here next weekend with THAT event. Filled all troughs, plus a couple extra to dip from. Some are heatable so long as power🤣 yeah, took advantage of decent temps & sunshine today. Was still pretty windy, so I closed a door on the west side of one barn to keep it warmer & not blow the bedding. East side open to go in or out. Others were already set up for that 👍

Now, time to relax! Everyone is warm & dry!! Cats bed themselves between barns & a horse trailer with a window open for them 😁 hay beds everywhere.

I'm thinking it's time for food and probably a glass of wine.
