Very much like you @Baymule 🤣 ya do what ya gotta do!! There are days we amaze ourselves

Cool out, moist from heavy dew, chores done. Was up at just shy of 5....🙄🥴...load of laundry done, waiting for me to hang it out. Dishwasher going. I'm contemplating -- go to work or move jobs? 🤔. Kinda on a roll and hate to lose momentum. It's only a couple hrs & can combine with the couple tomorrow. We'll see how I feel about it shortly. 😁

Expecting my Jeffers order today. Get ready goaties, more wormer coming. And I need to get last kids separated to wean. I'd like it to be done at same time. Later than I've ever waited -- just screwy weather & totally upset all the schedules. 🤷 And I need to castrate one buckling for freezer fill in late Fall. Haven't done that in a while but, good meat. That'll be another days job, with another person to help hold -- he's pretty stout!

Better get to the clothesline! 👍

Number one killer of riding lawn mowers and push mowers, water in fuel bowl from ethanol fuel or clogged jets.
Number two, rotted out decks
Have never mowed the lawn here, not required.
I maintain a firebreak though if that counts?
Round two on transmission pulling today, this one is more fun. Instead of half round yoke which you just take 4 bolts off and pull the driveshaft off

This one is full round and you get to beat the u joints out for about a hour or more.

Hubbs hit a branch (storm damage) on his way to the airport. Lucky he didn’t get hurt but now we are contemplating a new truck. Or a different one. Generator worked then stopped. Pursuing that. Chicks are ok but a Marans hen has dedicated her existence to harassing mother hen. Marans managed to hatch a single chick after brooding twelve. Count the flogging rooster, low hatch and aggression I’m going back to Wyandottes.

Sounds like the Marans needs to be stuck in jail.

My first chickens were silver laced Wyandottes! They are so pretty!

I'm just going to put this here, but no matter how dark their eggs are or how much they sell for Marans are terrible chickens. I just hated mine even though I could sell every single one I listed when I just started out. They're better off at freezer camp (and their taste is FAR sweeter than their disposition). They fed my family better butchered than as egg birds.
