Heading to the hottest day of the year today supposed to hit 90 🫤. Took care of sheep and chickens first. Breakfast now and probably turning morning coffee into iced coffee to finish it.
Work on fencing continues. All posts and t posts are in most of the bracing is done.

Sorry. Don't let whatever win - you got this.
Certified letter came in mail from chief of police, a property I tore a dilapidated house down in town we bought and was cleaning up, someone filed a public nuisance on us over it. Now they want me to stop everything and have it done in 15 days or get fined.

was probably a squatter that complained. No matter, still a grrrrrr. You’ll still figure it out - and maybe in a get even 😉mode.
Give me 30 days, sure that's fine I can work with that and understand the notice. You want me to move a house in pieces in 15 days when the dump truck is waiting on a transmission, not fine. Not to mention I have a rip rap spreading contract coming up for a few days then add in rain two days next week or more, need to have the excavator moved back to town to do it. Warnings are nice and so are 30 days grace periods, not 15 days and we are fining you everyday with 10% interest with intent to seize the property.
I'm driving up there Monday and we are going to have a come to Jesus meeting.

Fingers crossed. And Monday gives you a ~little time to think it through.
Hopefully you can get 15 days amended to 30 or better. Of course if it were me I’d be spitting bullets.

I wonder if they fined the previous owners too? For a place that was pretty well condemned, they should be happy I took the place down. Might not be at their pace, but damn I see more of a problem with trash moving in a standing structure than one in a pile. This is how it looked like when we bought it.

We would of kept the place standing, lifted the house since the basement foundation was collapsing in. Though in this town you can only spend half of what you spent for the whole place on any improvements in a year. No way we could lift the house and redo the basement for $7500, then fix the place up. Good thing I did tear it down though, peeped into the attic and half the rafters and ceiling joists were gone, place caught fire few times and they went over it with new sheathing and shingles.
