@canesisters put 4 corner stakes in ground and wrap some plastic or old sheet on them. Like a mini greenhouse. Might look rough but should allow them to ripen. Look for large, clear yard trash bags to staple on the posts, etc. you can bring the fruit inside once the begin to turn. Yes, seed will be viable once they turn.

My morning - BC --- Before Coffee...........

0331 hours Pinkster answers her phone and is told of sleepers in need of rescue. She and her team, Ree's Three, are the closest to the last reported location of said sleepers. General location somewhere south of the team's current location.

0340 hours Pinkster has all the details needed and wakes her team members with a tug on their tails. Yella Fella and Boo Bear yawn and stretch before the team consults with their knowledge base of the somewhat
uncharted territory they must navigate in the pitch dark.

0343 hours Yella Fella is tasked with finding a way out of their current headquarters confinement. He checks several known areas of previous exit routes and all are fortified beyond his ability to open. Working at a frantic pace, he continues working to find a way out, for the lost sleepers have to be in some sort of imminent danger and in need rescue. Eureka! Yella Fella has found a weak area in their confinement zone. He calls in Pinkster and Boo Bear to help open the gap. As an accomplished team they work an opening large enough to continue their rescue mission.

0357 hours Team Ree's Three navigate uncharted territory, leaving only puppy pawprints in their wake. They worked through many square tree trunks, low ceilings and over carpet that has the scent of the lost sleepers. Focused on the mission they ignored all distractions. Boo Bear takes over following the scent trail, as he closes in on the lost sleepers the rest of team Ree's Three catches up. There's a grumble, oh no possible danger! But wait - it's mama Ree, and the giver of food, toys, and snuggles - she is in great need of puppy-aid. Fast tail wags and face kisses applied. Boo Bear barks to the others, "Mission Accomplished!"

0405 hours, Team Ree's three convenes in their headquarters cafeteria for an early breakfast.

0410 hours Pinkster, Yella Fella and Boo Bear debrief while the giver of food, toys, and snuggles cleans and freshens up their headquarters, for they left in such a rush it was a bit messy.

0414 hours Team Ree's Three fall asleep knowing they completed a successful search and rescue mission.

Hot coffee, Firefly on in the background, notebook & pens out to make plans for the day. Waiting on the sun.
40° now, climbing to 60° by late afternoon.

Question - yall remember that tough little trash tomato? 2 plants survived & are several feet tall with green tomatoes on them. With night time temps dropping like this I don't think they're likely to survive to ripen. If I pick them & bring them inside to ripen, can I still save the seeds? I'd like to try again with them next year.
You can also transplant them into a pot and bring them into the house.

Puppies are growing and so cute! I love the puppy updates.

@canesisters do the tent over the tomatoes and if possible, you can run an extension cord out to them and a small electric heater.

Was up at 4 AM. It’s blowing a gale outside, power blinked like a strobe light and finally went out. At least my second cup of coffee is still hot.

Sentry spent the night in the front field where heavy bred ewes are. I don’t let him in their night pen and at daylight, will take him back to middle field. He is out there now barking hysterically at “something”. Turtle? I’ll find out in a little while.

Peggy and Bennett are not painting today, they have things to do in town. I’ll go to the house at 8 and start painting. More fun!

Up...had breakfast while waiting on daylight. Will be windy & cool all day, struggling to hit 60. Doesn't matter, I'll be at work, inside. 😉 Tractor parts should arrive today and tomorrow. :fl hope it's all that's needed. I'll pick up more oil today 😔$$

Have yourself a great day!!

Update on Sentry’s hysteria, skunk odor in the air, but not on him. Buford was crying with excitement when I turned him loose. He and Sheba raced out in the middle field, noses down, sniffing. I took Sentry to middle field and the 3 of them are still cris-crossing the field. I’m glad skunk is gone!
