Hope that doesn’t turn into a regular thing.
They go awol about once every 90 days usually after a night of barking at things that go bump. They found a fence gap and you know the rest. Fortunately my neighbors don’t care. But there is a busy secondary highway and alligators in the nearby river. My brother jokes that they’re chasing Bigfoot. They do have a route but weren’t on it today. Glad they’re back.

My daughter and family take their dogs, did have 3, down to 2 now. I have a fenced front yard mainly for that reason and because I do not let my dog Carson run loose. He goes with me outside but if I leave, he goes in the fenced yard. My friend takes her dogs everywhere, the 17 year old weiner dog belongs to her 24 year old autistic daughter, so I get it. I would never take my dogs but they have work to do and probably wouldn’t be happy leaving the farm. Not to mention they would be like an angry tornado with teeth. LOL
I get it, too.

I used to take my dog for rides when I went "yard sale-ing" but got tired of those who scolded me for leaving my dog in a hot car (it wasn't, AC was running and I was 15 feet away looking at kitchenware). So, I stopped.

A fence is a living thing. On our sand it heaves to and fro. A gap here a gap there. If there’s a predator presence he’ll get out.

Coffee is ready. I’m going to be helping paint the inside of Peggy and Bennett’s new house this week. Peggy never painted before and needs help. I’m taking 2 ladders this morning. I already took my paint supplies and we went to Home Depot and she bought more.
