Happy Birthday! Is it the lemur’s birthday too? Y’all could have a party together! Cupcake food fight!
Thank you. Based on the evidence every day is any given lemur’s birthday. While an observance for me might include an attempt to get the neighbor’s lemur to screech a chorus of a bawdy saloon tunes better Angels prompted me to cease and desist before law enforcement and chiggers arrived. I believe this birthday has been properly managed. Not true for previous birthdays but with age comes wisdom. Unless you’re Jane Fonda.

I am the birthday girl. My neighbor has a lemur. I never thought I would type these two sentences together. Never underestimate the universe’s sense of humor.
Happy Birthday! I hope you had a wonderful day!!

You had me at Lemur...What's the Lemurs name, and is this a common pet? We have a coatimundi that lives in my town, and got loose one day wreaking havoc on some folks property and ability to think straight. I think a lemur would be more gentlemanly...:idunno

Second cup on its way in. :caf Of course I worried all night about the new babies-it's raining, and cold. They're in a dry goat house, but I can't help but worry-it's what I do! When it gets light outside I'll go open their door and let them make their own decisions as far as coming out. The entire enclosure has a roof, but it's a bit leaky, and until I get up there to replace the corrugated PVC, I might need to put a tarp on it. (yep-I noticed it yesterday morning because why wouldn't I check weeks ago?)
I'm considering a camera so I can relax a little. There's no danger in the pen of predators, I'm simply concerned about the weather. :th
I have a journal due tomorrow for school, and I'm trying to figure out how to do my reading in the goat pen so they can get more used to me. They really don't run away, but they're naturally a little nervous. I don't blame them!
I also have to get myself to agway or Tractor supply to get more pine litter.
Of course Clover started tasting the litter, which sent me into a google frenzy...that's something I never thought to worry about...but here we are! If she keeps it up I may have to switch to straw, which isn't as absorbent so I hope I can stay with pine.
I'll take more pictures today-Yesterday was a race against nightfall!

Nervous new mom! They will be ok. How bad does the roof leak? @Honeybee Hill what about patching it with the roof tar stuff that comes in a tube? Congratulations on the new babies!

Ahhhh…..COFFEE! Dandelion started BAA BAA BAA BAA at 4:30 AM. So I’m up, she’s had 4 ounces, a diaper, I’ve got a cup of coffee and she’s cuddled in my lap, asleep. Amazing how she goes from house lamb at night, following me around every step, to outside sheep lamb during the day, following her real mommy, fighting off her 2 bigger brothers for the udder and mommy’s milk. This tiny bit of dandelion fluff doesn’t miss a beat. Her buddy in the house is Carson, a giant Great Dane/Labrador cross, who licks her chin for the dribbled milk.

Power came back on sometime during the night, I think it’s stopped raining. It’s 56F with a high of 67F and going to be cloudy all day. Sunshine tomorrow and Monday.

You are so right @Baymule I was of course over reacting, I opened their little door, (which is getting enlarged pretty soon!) and they popped right out and started eating and sparring with each other. Just like my sons did as youngsters. :)
Dandelion sounds and looks so precious! I'm glad that she's doing so well! Sounds like a feisty little girl!

It's 48F right now, going up to 55F. I think it's going to rain until Monday. Ugh. Hard to get things done while slipping around in the mud.

Ok @Honeybee Hill -- new goat mom -- they won't taste the shavings long, all babies put stuff in their mouths!! Hay is better, they know but had to try pine....which they like as fresh needles. Roof? If only a couple dribbles, it can wait and a patch is fine. NEXT MONTH you'll have so many more antics to worry over...🤣😁🥰...plus fun things to report. Hold them, it will tame and teach it's ok to be held.

It isn't raining but the air is so wet it could be. 🙂 All the dairy goats are out on the backyard buffet. I'm watching happily -- coffee cup in hand. I'll toss some feed in their trough in a couple hrs, they'll run there and eat while I shut their gate. Meat goat crew will then get buffet time. 🤣 Same removal method for them....love feed bucket training.👍 Saves so much time and aggravation. Just don't walk into a field of friendly, used to being touched bodies, with any feed container in hand -- they'll surround you!! 🥴

My soap making customer is ready for milk. Good. I've got several gallon in frig....now I won't have to make cheese today. Milk $ becomes feed $. 👍

Good Afternoon everyone!!!
FH is making LASAGNA tomorrow night for dinner so I went ahead and got the hamburger, sausage cooked plus the sauce going in crockpot on low so all he has to do tomorrow is mix the cheeses and put it together then bake it. I am also doing laundry and hanging it out no breeze abut lots of sun shine.
