Sounds like lunch at chicken swap this year!! 2 sandwiches a one lemonade....$31. the sandwiches weren't big and not even that good They're making a living.

Probably you're like us, don't eat "out" much. I'm amazed at the price of a hamburger nowadays. Mostly I cook, carry a lunch. About once every month or two I buy out. Not fun to dine out alone. Plus home is healthier.

Soooo. Went out early for the goat showdeo. Putting boys in a pen, find two who were to go with bad runs, as well as a mature doe. Hmmm, they got into too much of something in that new field area yesterday . Got 4 penned....2 not going and 2 decided catching wasn't happening!

Proud that I had backed right up perfectly to hook up trailer.. Then backed it close as I could to pen. Usually I'm more set up....but. then, DS doesn't show to help. This old gal tied them to hold on to, straddled them and walked/tugged them. They weight an easy 70# of fight. One by one. Never again. Back to my pen and chute load! Run inside, change, jump in truck and go. 3/4 there and traffic stops! NO!!!!! Already running late. A wreck further up...finally cleared and when I get there, gates locked for check-in.

I went in, looked at stuff, talked with some friends....went home. . Backed nicely to where loaded, opened gate, opened trailer and had to go in escape door to get them out. DS is there . Disconnects trailer....easy part!!!! ......asks me to take him to a close by store, we leave and less than 1/2 mile, strange, loud noise starts. Stop, lift hood, see nothing. Fluids all good. WTH ?¿? Turned and back. Truck in driveway, sick.

Not my kinda day!!

Think bearings gone in tensioner pulley. Got new, DS will put on shortly. Hope that's all. $30. Fix. Sure was noisy!

Auctions I go to don’t shut gates for accepting animals. Auctions here run sheep and goats first, so if someone showed up after they were finished, it would be a no. Next time, load them up the evening before. And clobber son over the head, just because.

Got a terrible shock today... NOT from the fence!
Sis came over to help me work on the fence. I asked what she wanted for lunch - my treat of course - she wanted pizza.
2 small white pizzas. Added grilled chicken & grilled onions to both. Added mushrooms to mine. $49.00 !!!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING??? The white pizzas, being specially, were $12 each. All the rest were the add-ons!!!!
$25 for a few slices of grilled chicken, a handful of grilled onions & a few slices of mushrooms!!!!!
I'm ALL FOR Supporting local owned business.... but GEEZE. Pretty sure that was the last time I'll visit that place.

$49???? I bet they won’t be getting much repeat business.

OH NO @Mini Horses .... what a crappy day......hope that it is just the tensioner puller....
And now another month on the feed bill... at least there is grass/pasture for them also...

Food out is VERY EXPENSIVE EVERYWHERE.... I am eating more and more at home too... and groceries are getting higher too... Luckily I don't have to buy much... and I try to look at the "discount " stuff... like the lunch meat and stuff... Sometimes they have good markdowns at Sharp Shopper too... but I hate to make a 30+ mile trip (one way) there... so try to combine it with a trip to a farm or when I have several things on a list to do.
I also hate eating out alone... so will get things to go and then can get 2 or more meals out of things....
Another reason that the D#@$ED DEER had better stay out of the garden.... I want my green beans this year...

Coffee is ready. This up at 3 AM has got to stop. I have a hard time turning my brain off-although there are those who might say it never gets turned on. LOL it stormed last night and I was worried about the sheep, the 2 surviving lambs and ewes that might give birth, wet, mud, things I can’t do anything about right now. I’ll be so glad to get a barn up so they will have a better shelter. Then I’ll have to find another reason to wake up at 3 AM.

Good Morning! Second cup on it's way in-hope fully this one will inspire me to wake up and start moving around!
Today we have the blessing of the fleet at the club. We do not own a boat, but good friends do and invited us to spend the day, so I need to get moving!
Tomorrow is DH's birthday, and I normally have all kinds of inspiration for something special for him...this year It's on a Monday, which means that most restaurants are closed, so I might be cooking his favorite and having the kids (mine) over. His daughter is still estranged so he will miss her, and that breaks my heart. Young adults these days are far different than they used to be. I argued with my parents, then we got over it, and moved on. She just doesn't like me, so he gets punished. There's other stuff I guess, but she's completely cut herself off, having literally never met me.
Ahh well, I hope someday she comes to her senses.

OUCH on that toe!!
Ah yeah, the orange weird sky stuff - when we have fires around here that's what it's like with the added ash flurries. No fun.

The toe is bound up real good, shoes really hurt!

The sky cleared but the fires are still burning, so who knows if we'll be dealing with that again! Ash flurries sounds very Mt St. Helens!!
