I was out the door, coffee in hand, to deliver milk, eggs and pick up figs. Came home & got as many as I could in dehydrator. Still a batch in frig for tomorrow. These are like my jar of candy when done. More next week. 12 trays working.

So went out to milk after that. Second cup break. Next is to install regulator in car door so window goes up & down again. Half of door in backseat right now🤣 THEN...time to take my chainsaw out to play -- cut up stuff downed last week. Then I can get to running last stretch of wire on all those insulators I put up!! Finally, I see that side of perimeter could be done. 👏

I plan to bush hog late day...perfect weather, warm & low humidity.View attachment 100724
Oooh!!! I am SO jealous! I grew up in Fresno, California and figs were very easy to get. I LOVE figs and have been trying to grow them since we moved here 8-1/2 years ago. The only one that grew only puts on tiny, little (one bite) figs. Two years ago, I tried starting fig trees from cuttings, that I bought online. BIG FAIL!!! :th I also bought a Turkey fig in a 1 gallon pot, but I wasn’t feeling well that year, and it never got in the ground. Then we had that frozen February and it killed the tree. One of these days I am going to dig a hole in the ground and THEN go buy a potted fig tree.

I am having trouble with my fruit trees. Technically my place has another name. But I call it Weathertop. I’m a Tolkien nerd. I have a lot of sheep poop soil amendments to add as they build up. I left three small but bearing apple trees at the old place. Yards of blackberries and pears that should bear next year. Last I heard a road went through all of it. We build. We hope that others figure it out. Meantime game on for my new orchard.

Everything is next to the coffee pot so go ahead and make yourselves a cup then head out to the patio to enjoy the crisp (65) morning air before the temp goes to 85 by 2pm.
I have a timeline I made up for time management for yesterday, today, Friday plus Sat and so far I am a day ahead on what needs to get removed from freezer ( 3 Boston Butts and 5Lbs Bacon got pulled yesterday- started thawing on counter yesterday morning but was put in fridge by 10AM, 5Lbs of Hamburger and 5Lbs Sausage got pulled today, started thawing on counter will be put in fridge in a few hours). I was told it's just my OCD side showing but I say it shows organization (EVEN THOUGH MY DESK AREA SAYS DIFFERENTLY :D:lol::gig) and time management. I don't want to be running around like a chicken with it's head cut off on Sat when guests are arriving.

Light, scattered again today...so wet but no puddles!
2.6" Tues, into wed morn. So, it's pretty overcast now. I'm having coffee, light chores, then to work. Too wet to do much outside makes me think work is a good thing 🤣

This week resets are in OTC meds area. I can tell you, we do NOT need so many choices in packaging! 😵‍💫🤣 holy cow. Shelf after shelf of it!

Reading about more pig and poultry farm reductions. Be ready...corp growers/ processors will soon be controlling product, availability and prices. Food control. Corp food farms using chemicals we don't want, causing us health issues. Continue to raise your own food! In 2 yrs the result of what's happening now will be obvious.

Getting another cup...have a day to work through. ☺️

Lost a day yesterday to recovery. These trips to town just kill me! I was doing SO well and now I feel like I been kicked by a mule.
Fen has been a little monster this morning, but I do need to be grateful he let me sleep all day yesterday, well, mostly anyhow, between destroying stuff and waking me up with dead chicky breathe 🤢. He saved that thing and played with it for days. Once a day I would throw it back outside because he’d sneak it in. yesterday he apparently ate all but one little leg. I guess it’s a souvenir of his best friend. He’s one sick puppy!
Coffee with a little brandy, please. I’ve earned it. 😳
