@SageHill I am convinced people who ā€œhateā€ lamb, just never had good lamb!
I donā€™t ā€œhateā€ lamb, Iā€™m just afraid to buy any to cook myself because my mother used to say that if lamb was cooked wrong, it would taste bad. And since I didnā€™t grow up eating it, I feel squeamish about it.

Having said all that, last Thursday our newest future son-in-law invited DH and I out to dinner so he could ask our approval to marry our daughter. (She came too.) We went to a nice Italian restaurant, and I decided to try the lamb ā€œlollipopsā€. I was sure they wouldnā€™t be on that menu if they werenā€™t both quality and well prepared. They were quite good. They were like beef, but not like beef. After the first couple bites, I wasnā€™t sure I liked them, so I ate all the vegetables and then went back to the lamb. I actually ate it all, and I joked with DH that it would be ok for us to raise sheep, since we would be able to eat them. (He didnā€™t fall for it. šŸ˜…)

HA -- that is my fear every time I cook it!! So far so good - there's a braised lamb recipe here on BYH that is amazing - I've done it twice. The guy who butchered for us said to know the difference between store bought I should take a pic of what I'm going to cook, go to the store find the closest to that get it and cook both. LOL at the price of lamb in the store no way - and after cooking the first chops I knew I had the best.
Congrats on on the future son-in-law!

Bone might be good and strong...

But, the foot holds so much weight, if the bone doesn't heal exactly right, torc it just a bit and it will re-break.

So... suck it up, or huge surgery to fix all the mess.

Because also... if it heals wrong bone spurs can grow which cause more issues.... and can make it more likely to re-break.

At least... that is Spouse's foot. Yeah... Spouse doesn't want the huge downtime from surgery.. so has opted to wear a brace when there is risk of messing it up... and bull on through.

Thanks. Foot has had issues. Breaks, overuse, etc. Probably time to get it looked at. Luckily there is a specialist nearby. Hubbs kicked at a flogging rooster a few years ago and dislocated a toe. A nice doctor got out of bed and fixed it. The story still hangs around the small town ER and draws laughs. May tell them I kicked a rhinoceros.

Pick your place to live based on few factors, the type of disaster you can live with, politics and how close you can stand to live near someone.
Everywhere has disasters, find one you can build to survive and wouldn't mind surviving. Here it's wildfires, blizzards, rogue twisters/hail storms in summer, temperatures that hit 115Ā°F and can swing down to -60Ā°F wind chills.

To prevent my coffee from getting cold I'm the odd one, put coffee in thermos, and pour about 2 oz at a time to drink and it never gets cold. I lost the cap to the thermos about 5 years or so ago so I stole the wife's measuring cup so now I know with precision.

Walked a couple fields....wet!! But emptied last night's rains from feed pans/troughs, etc. checked and yep, several inches down too wet to walk in plowed areas. Goats are not happy in/with wet grasses....so hayed some, about out. Grasses growing so slowed the expense. Better consider a few bales with rains all week. šŸ„“šŸ¤”

Came in and changed jeans since wet to knees šŸ™„ guess it's another "?" day. But a customer just stopped to buy 4 dz eggs. Good!! šŸ‘. They bought their own feed this week šŸ¤£
