Starting to warm up here slowly which is nice, bad part is yesterday smoke from Canada moved in. Supposed to be clear today, but that's a lie. Oh forgot to mention for all those who are wishing to move to Montana cause Yellowstone show or whatever that is that portrayed this place as paradise we spend summers covered in wildfire smoke.
Canada burns we get smoked out, California burns we get smoked out, Montana burns we get smoked out.
Come butchering time the pork from here will come pre-smoked for you free of charge :thumbsup

Sipping the last of my coffee and thinking of how I’m setting things up for todays detection classes.
Bemoaning the fact that after August 1 I can no longer get a puppy from the breeder in Europe. Why? Because “our” government here is banning importing puppies under the age of 6 months. Follow the rules and they squeeze you even tighter. Not in a good mood. Thank you f-ng peta, rescues and bleeding hearts who brought in sick and diseased dogs from Mexico and the Chinese meat markets.

Nothing exciting today -- beyond all day in the garden. Planted & planted.!!! After 6 hrs my back said "no more". I watered up the transplanted tomato, pepper plants, which were last things put out.....rowed & seeded stuff first. Then crept, bent over, feeling tooooo cramped up, stiff lower back -- to the house. Wow.

Sat on the couch, glass of cold water & ibuprofen! Then dozed off for a few...4pm. about 4:30 DS calls for a ride to grocery....took him & I ordered a pizza while I waited. Home, ate...heading to shower & bed! I'm done. 🤐. What a day! Back to work tomorrow. Supposed to rain mid day/overnight. Few more seeds to get in ground. Then set up posts & fence for tomatoes, climbing beans, cukes, etc. plus place cardboard & mulch. All here to use, later. Perhaps the weekend.

DS refilled freon in my truck 👍👍 yah!! Need AC. 🥵

I had a horrible night with hubs gasping for breath every so often. I pulled his pillow three times; punched his arm once. It went on for an hour. Then he snored again...Yes, he's going in for another sleep apnea test soon - ordered by the neurologist.

So I worked at the fd bank and it was busy! 22 cars in an hour 45 min. Only two of us handling the outside. My plantar fasciitis is killing me.

So now its 6:25 pm, I struggled to stand up long enuf to make a Spam quiche with green onions, home grown eggs, and sharp cheddar cheese; and feed the pets. As soon as the son and hubs show up from down below, I'm cutting into the quiche.

Sitting at Veterinary Specialty Hospital-
Obi will be staying the night getting antivenom. I didn’t see it, but he found it - rattlesnake bite. Two small punctures not much swelling so far, but the blood smear told the rest of the story.
Ree may have had an encounter as well - didn’t notice any swelling until we were about to leave with Obi for the ER Vet. She is being looked at now.

I sure hope they both fully recover.

Potentially scary stuff. :hugs

If you didn't see it... how did you know he got bit?

Ree checked out ok and is coming home with us. She’ll be watched closely. The vet couldn’t find anything and the swollen lip had no punctures.
Said she will text me on how Obi is doing with the antivenin treatment as often as possible. Told her to flood me with texts. 🙏🏻
