Hey, the Boer meat is finer grained, better carcass to bone ratio. Some limited marbling because we feed more than forage. But their conversion of forage to meat is far better than dairy. Of course, I'm not going without my dairy girls to milk 😊
I've never had Boer meat, but I'm kinda anxious to try it. The dairy cross wether we tried wasn't impressive... The absolute best goat I ever ate was a pygmy, lol.

It's winter time. Not a fan. Sun is out, warming to something I can tolerate. Until then :caf run dishwasher, couple loads of laundry to do and then outside to choose which job to work first. Have 10 days for projects here. Hope I get my butt in gear. Did get several goats dewormed thurs. Will get others looking less than great in a couple days, as I run all thru chute for their CDT vaccines. New buck pen is high on my list. Rearrange hay racks, too. Just farm stuff....:idunno fence is as daily as coffee  hot wire short to find first.

Winter is slowly working it's way here - yay. Foggy last night, still this morning and everything out there is wet. A start on much needed rain. Barn/ranch work today and hopefully a start on trimming hooves.

Temperatures dropping down to single digits tonight, Pooch enjoying his hay and so are the piggies. Looks like we might get a reprieve around the 5th next month. Fine with me, a soft run before winter sets in to see where to make improvements since last winter wasn't winter. This winter looks like it might be half a winter or more.

Snacking on popcorn :) a self reward for getting started trimming hooves. 👍 Got the ram and ram pal done. LOVE thatspin/trim chute. I had a new pair of trimming shears from Premiere and they worked well, but oh man, I just don't have the hand strength I used to have. :barnie
Got the young ewes and mamas yet to trim. Now that the chute and panels are all set up and I found the trimming shears it shouldn't take too long. Putting it on the tomorrow list. Hopefully my hands will hold out.

@SageHill look into a hoof boss.
Looked -- wow looks good. Have you used it? Isn't that what @Ridgetop has? LOL I looked at an electric trimmer - that was OUCH$. Anyone else? And... I'm left handed 🫤 might take a bit of getting used to. But I'm all for learning new things (just don't ask me to write anything with my right hand).
