What can I substitute for a 12 percent all stock feed, not sweet feed? I can’t get to Atwood’s which is the usual. I’ve always understood that feeding only sweet feed will cause problems. Nutrena doesn’t have a product. Google is frustratingly stupid on the subject. Help!
What stores can you get to? If you can tell us what brands, we can try and help more.

Was one of those early up mornings. Another HR before daylight but, waiting impatiently. Things to do outside -- another mid 60 day and need a few more list items done while good weather. Outside yesterday all day.....new moms & kidding arrangements at stalled barn. It's a twice a day butt check this time of year looking for next doe ready. Cold coming back Thursday night. 😣

Need to make a hay run, almost out of the og/alf hay. Plenty straight orchard but -- new moms/milk.

I'll do chores, check babes, then try to head to hay dealer while it's drying & warming -- light sprinkles last night. After that, no interruptions for farm plans. Need to move some animals to different pastures 🤔 Pound some t-posts & up fence panels by an open shed, add hay racks. Yeah, some goat separations are coming. I won't be popular🤣 :idunno

Love the coffee! Still dark outside. I need daylight! Need go make a feed trip this morning, but will wait for feed store to open so I can call and make sure they have it. Last month, they sold out over the weekend and I had to go back the next day. I buy super bags. Then I scoop into 5 gallon buckets and pour in meat teach cans. Lots of extra work, but saves me about $100.

I buy super bags, about 1,000 pounds, give or take. I scoop feed into 5 gallon buckets and dump into metal trash cans. Check on super bags safe for sheep at feed stores. Not all feed stores carry them. I go 56 miles one way for mine. It comes out to between 16 cents and 17 cents per pound.

Cats woke me up before dawn begging for breakfast. Fluffy little freeloaders.
Got the hay trailer loaded & tarped with 2 new round bales yesterday. Troughs cleaned & filled, the new lead-out line adjusted & better secured, and a few other little things done before the rain hit.
Going to be another nice day. I have to go back to work tonight so only working 1/2 day here.

So how many pounds of feed can you fit in metal trash cans and what size in gallons do you get?

Wish I could get more larger than 50 lb sacks here for the ducks, maybe if I had chickens I could. The pigs have ate almost all their corn, lost a 265 gallon tote worth to filling up with rain water. Time for more corn, this time I'm sticking it in one of the shelters I built.

Snowing today, tomorrow maybe next day and about every other day afterwards, winter is here!!! Temperatures are plummeting from here on out, not fast enough or cold enough, but enough going for below zero in the next few days. :yesss: Got the road down in time or I would be hoping for a break in the weather.
