New nurse today, a retired Marine...he said Ron needed to get up. He removed the restraints, put him in a clean gown, got a walker and gait belt, and AWAY THEY WENT!
I cried. Happy tears.

Glad to hear. This sitting around, restraints, alot of BS sometimes... I realize there are times certain things need to be done... BUT .... get 'em up and get them moving... good for the body.... better for the BRAIN and psyche.New nurse today, a retired Marine...he said Ron needed to get up. Daniel said he's Ron's nurse for three days, and added "If he doesn't go home before".That's fantastic! Wlking is good for them on so many levels! My DH said it always lifts his spirits to be able to get up and move. Staying in bed isn't good for the body! Any news on a release time?
I wear an Apple Watch thingy and I average 5 miles a day, point being is this thing has alert if someone falls. Also can measure steps, heart rate, steadiness in walking, how long you stand and the list goes on. Be a good thing for him to set goals on the measurements to increase at least one step more than the day before.New nurse today, a retired Marine...he said Ron needed to get up. I meant to address this: nurse is a Marine veteran, Ron's an Army veteran. He might respond better to a man "requiring him" to get his butt up and going....
Well there is Army vets then there is combat vets then there is infantry vets then there is combat infantry vets and they all speak different and think differently.I meant to address this: nurse is a Marine veteran, Ron's an Army veteran.

I’m 11B and we all went to Benning as infantrymen, in fact it’s OSUT for us 11 bravos. One Station Unit Training, which means basic and AIT for which him and me both walked the grounds on Honor Hill in the end. Delta 2-19 was where I was there back in ‘02.But Ron responded to the DI type of voice!
He's 11 Bravo, infantry, AIT at Fort Benning.
