Sockets?I've also seen potatoes work. My dad would grate them up so he could really get them packed in his "eye hollows." Is there actually a word for that area on either side of the nose where the eyes live?

It reminds me of a wide exhaust pipe, but for those little pipes inside that look like fuel is involved.

Guess it's a shield that went around a torpedo/salamander heater, but that's a hot/cold water faucet up in there. Looks like someone was trying to keep it insulated or heated by multitude of ways. Missing the knobs though. Brass body gives it away.

I burned my eyes once. I grated a potato and wrapped in a paper towel. I squeezed the juice in my eyes and got instant relief.

Definitely nothing to do with gas. Gas only has one inlet, black arrows are the inlets that take sweated on copper pipes, yellow arrow is where this is fastened to a wall of sorts, the blue circled is the outlet and the green circled is the valves. Take those rusted flat head screws off and the valves will come out, you will see o-rings and such inner workings.
Scrap as everyone says.

Had the 3am coffee. Then a couple hours of doom-scrolling/random fact searching/ reading old posts on TEG/binge-watching Little House on the Prairie. Still too early, the sun won't be up for a while yet. Getting another cup & maybe some fried potatoes while I wait.
