My two week old bottle baby is rapidly depleting the store of goat's milk available.

Can I mix the goat's milk and cow's milk to a 50/50 blend to stretch the goat's milk?

Or should I just transition her to cow's milk?

We start ours on goat milk to get them the antibodies mom makes for a good start but then give whole cow's milk. It is great if you can give her goat milk, but cow milk works great and makes bottle raising very easy. Transition her with what milk you have left over to whole cow's milk. Make the move over the course of a week, gradually giving her more cow than goat.

Pearce Pastures, you've been sooooo helpful already.

One more question.

The little piggy is taking 3oz every fours hours. And she is sucking them down in record time.

Do I increase to 4oz and space them out more? She takes them so fast I'm afraid if her getting bloat.

Yeah, some kids really like to eat (and then there are those that act like they are milk critics at every feeding).

At two weeks and eating well, she should be fine with 3-4 feedings per day of 4-6 ounces each feeding. If she is sucking down three no problem, go ahead and offer her four and see how she does. Gradual changes are key. You might start putting a little bit of hay in with her too. She might start nibbling at it out at this point.

Baby goats do very well on cows milk, we use it all th etime when we have more babies than milk from the Does.

We just load up on whole milk from the store when on sale and frezz for those times when we need to mix or switch :)

What kind of goat is she? I'm assuming some kind of mini, b/c I have twin Kiko doelings who are only 7 days old, and they are both drinking 9 oz 4 times a day!

She is a Nigerian Dwarf.

I've already brought her some hay inside. But so far the dogs are more interested in it! :D

I also let her "taste" an apple yesterday. She's going around tasting everything else in the house!

Thank for the advice - I'll start offering her 4oz with this next bottle.

She sucked down 4oz like it was nothin. OINK

I'm going to sloooooowly switch her to whole cow's milk while sloooooowly increasing her portions.

In the mean time she is treating my house like a NASCAR track. She runs laps from the living room to the kitchen to the laundry and back again. She also figured out how to climb the stairs. Time to get out the baby gate!

Big change from a little girl that I thought I was going to lose two weeks ago.

I think she's pretty cute too. She's even got blue eyes.

Her brother is solid black, and her sister is white with black and brown spots. Mom and Dad are both white with spots.
