"Zonie" was a derogatory term made up by Californians about their neighbors to the east. But because most of us long-time Arizonans couldn't care less about California, we use their term proudly to reference ourselves. I suppose it is much like me using the nickname "Dutch". Although I am of Dutch decent, the term "dutch" was a derogatory term directed towards Germans in the mid-1800's in the eastern US cities (of which I again could care less about).elevan said:Welcome to BYH.

Well, welcome to BYH's. This is a fantastic website with all sorts of knowledgable people who will give you some great advice you can trust when you need it.
I hope you get your chickens, goats, and have a great time on your new property. There is a huge learning curve to keeping animals, what to feed, health issues, management, etc.
I actually have had people I respect say to me: Oh, you can just feed goats any old thing, they'll eat it.
