He is terrible at posing...He's a skirted rex, though.
And might be keeping the lilac doe. Her color was completely lost through the camera. =/

Dec 21
Moved a few buns around. Jessi is in with everyone else now, to protect kits from dying of cold once they leave the nest.
The tort siblings swapped cages.
Moved 9 smallest culls, across 3 litters, out to the long cage.
And the cull I've been waiting on is finally growing in his fur the rest of the way.



Oh, one of the Zero kits died. Other I flopped mom over and let it feed. Tanya is a loon, sits on her own kits. Ugh, can't wait until these crappers are gone.

Jessi is still a gross nest sitter. But I discovered something new today!
First time I've ever seen kits potty train themselves! Like piglets! Two of them wandered over to that corner to pee! Missed it both times, though, so just a picture of their toilet corner. Top left.

Tossed two does out to the cull cage, then split the 3 doe growers I had together. So now all of the current keepers have their own cage, besides the broken black doe.
Hoping the tort buck will sire 2-3 litters, then cull him.
Also hoping Cinder sires some great kits, buck or doe, so I can cull him out, too.

Looks like I have 3 does due nests on Tuesday.
Freckles × Cinder

Vicky × Baymax
Hoping to have keeper kit/s from each pair and cull out the does.

2 bucks, 1 doe. All looked hideous the first posing, lol. Almost culled the first buck, then he sat pretty for the camera.

Those rexs are always trying to eat what's near their cage. Dog fur included. Lol

Rest being culled tomorrow. Forgot my knife for the hides, so couldn't do it this morning.


Freckles moved the hay back to the nest, after I put a towel over it. No fur yet.

The Rex buck. He's a feed dumper, so I've been trying things to stop it. But still almost 7# at almost 14wks.
He finally sat pretty for me.



And decided to keep the broken tort doe & cull this one.

Still no kits. Oh, I guess it's because it's only day 30....wow, rain the last 2 days has really messed with my sense of time. Heh...

Idk how I keep forgetting how disgusting rabbits really are. One way or another, the rabbit building will be heated next year and I'll never use crocks and bowls again!

Ffs, nasty buggars. Even the adults stomp, pee & poo in their water. Kits swim, then sit in the food, pooping & peeing in it & on each other. Bloody disgusting.
Cleaning & drying everything plus kits every day is absurd.


Ordered 6 3.5" jfeeders and 5 11.5" jfeeders. The long feeders will be in cages where I'll move large litters to. Then remove mom when weaning. Hoping that helps the piling at the 3.5" feeder. Even with extended hoppers to keep it full overnight, the gross kits clog it and I have to clear it out. So they "go without" food because of their ickyness. Small feeders are to replace the crocks some have and to redo a stacker as a buck condo unit. It should help free up some space. Plus, I like them in one area, having randomly all around the bottom row is annoying.

They remind me of the ribbons on the stuffed bunnies I used to get in my Easter basket when I was little.
