Vickie kits.
Looks like a broken chocolate??

Supposedly, there's a market for raw rabbit hides with some parts still in. We'll see if it was worth the effort!

Jan 1

Moved the foster over to Unity's nest, since Tanya kits were leaving it alone in the nest, and it could get cold alone.
More nests given out. One feels empty, ate all of the hay in the nest, so I removed it. Another is not nesting, rest at least dug somewhat of a hole, Yynx pulled some fur, too.
Vickie is sitting on her kits, none injured yet, but can't wait to cull her...
Freckles isn't jumping in n out any more, so that's good.
Jessi's nest was removed, kits in with mom full time now. Might remove Tanya's nest next week.

All previous culls have now been fed to the pup.
Seeing how big Goliath is at such a young age and all of my rex keepers smaller than him....Makes me want to cull the blue otter I had kept back...The sister, the other rex doe and the Zero's rex doe, after they raise kits by Goliath, they'll all be culled out.
Relisting Tanya and will cull her in 2wks most likely.

Jan 2

No new kits yet. Just more possible not preg does. Ugh.

Printed cage charts. Definitely need to do a whiteboard type like a member mentioned! Thinking big glass and glass pens, though!

🤬
Quin lost 7 of her 11 kits. Didn't pull enough fur. Idk if the 4 will make it, especially when it's so cold. But we'll see.
Rebred immediately, since she lost most and she's fat.

And Yynx had her kits. Tons of fur, all alive. Didn't count them, she wasn't happy with me checking on them. Guess that's better than her sister...

Nana is pulling fur, seems a bit confused, at noon.

Freckles is now pooping in her nest. Ffs. But Vickie at least isn't doing that!
Another doe got more hay, no changes.

2:30pm,
Nana × Rivian.
First timer, did excellent! Had 7 kits.

Moved Quin's 4 kits into her nest, added tons of extra fur to the nest. Hoping they stay warm and she feeds them!

Today

It seems Quin fed her kits. But Quin is nest sitting... Seems half are. 😵‍💫

Moved Vickie's little dark one to Quin's nest, since she only has 4 and the guy was underfed. But first brought her out to feed the kit, once fat, both went back.

Vickie kits-
Wrong on early color guess on some, lol

Thought I took a pic of quin kits with foster, but I guess phone failed.

New feeders came in!

All full nests except that back top one, Gigi. Waiting on her.
Tanya nest came out.

Feeders, so new, so clean!
20240104_163952.jpg

Crazy these are only cents more expensive. Definitely worth it to get these vs the smallest, if you have space. But they come in lots of sizes.
Holds more feed than my cardboard hopper extenders allow.
20240104_164100.jpg

And found glass. Can't get it fully clean, scratches, but hopefully it'll work anyway.
Going to put the cage holes on the back. Then use glass chalk markers for the info on the front!
It's a big piece, so should get all info in easily.

Got 19 tiles for rest mats. Omg, they're too heavy! Why 19 and not 20? Heck if I know. Not like 1 more would suddenly make it *too* heavy. Lol
20240105_132821.jpg

Then worked on my glass chart.
Even larger would of been better, but this was as big of glass I could find at home.

Gigi was digging in her nest earlier today, so gave her more hay.

Just came back from night watering and she's pulling fur and putting it in the nest! 🤞 Added more fur, just in case and put a cover over it. Hope they're all warm and happy tomorrow!!

Also, cut a bunch of mulberry branches for everyone, except Gigi, as she's busy.

That sound isn't rain on a metal roof, it's a bunch of happy bunnies chowing down and shaking branches. Lol

20240105_160939.jpg20240105_160944.jpg20240105_165152.jpg

Lynx & her branch. Plus the noise of a zillion buns flinging & chewing their branches. So nice.

And Hamlet with his.

Oh, and that's the last 3 bags of feed....need to cull and buy more feed soon.......

Gigi had 6 kits!

$400 in the red. Plus 30 in poo sales. 8 in dog food. 35 in hide sales.

$327 currently in the red.

Hmm, one of Gigi's kits is underfed. Going to move it to Quin's nest.

Quin lost one of her kits. Looks like they moved location and it was lost.

Baymax son, Hamlet. Turning out better than before, but still needs work. Just as zen as his daddy.

Too many rabbits. Are they all improving, worth keeping??
Rainy day, flood warning, not much to do besides clear the house of holiday decor and check over which rabbit is worth keeping.

Hilda vs Hamlet. Since I have Goliath, I'll cull both Hamlet & Hilda.

Ebony vs broken black foster kit vs broken black doe unnamed. Cull the foster. Breed Ebony to Goliath & keep replacement. Keep broken doe for broken project.

Gold vs Aqua, will have to see current shape & weight, then keep one.

Cocoa vs lilac doe & choc buck. Don't know sire for lilac & choc, so will cull both.

Gotta cull Tanya, thinking to cull all kits, just too slow.

Cull Cinder & Freckles. Have replacements, but check if younger ones are better.

Sell Vickie, Rusty & Jessi, keep replacements.

Widy is on her last chance to kit out, shouldn't of given so many chances, but wanted to try getting those shoulders on a replacement. No luck so far and I'm now tired of her bull.

Have 3 grow outs each from 14× & 11× to decide on. Biggest, best shape from each will be kept.

Omg. Now I remember why I got rid of tiles as mats years ago. They're disgusting animals! So much caked on 💩 and pee, and rabbit is covered in it, too! Wtf!

Oh, boy...
Supposed to sell both. Hmm
Sire is Baymax, so, mutts. 10wks, decent weights for half rex. Hmm...

Screenshot_20240111_200221_Chrome.jpgScreenshot_20240111_200232_Chrome.jpg

Ugh, almost 11wks. Slow. Looks like that because was living with mom until yesterday. She started pulling fur and I realized that I'm incredibly forgetful, that or Xoh is just hormonal...Gave nest just in case....
Screenshot_20240111_200348_Chrome.jpg

Hmm. Blue is a cull. But looks like the black has a different sire than the broken, because of the perfect SF fur and silvering.

The tort siblings. Buck is a little heavier, but doe has the better shoulders. His heavy silvering reminds me of a hedgehog. Lol

3 siblings to choose from. All have faults, no known sire, so, thinking all will go and I'll rebreed 14.
Doe is small, decent from tip.
Buck decent shoulder and loin.
Last buck is smallest, no shoulders from side, but wide, but seems to have high rise.

Oh, no, not forgetful, it's listed! Due a nest next week, the 19th. So, possible false pregnancy with pulling fur so early...but we'll see.

Looks like 9 does due next week. Oh, I need more nests...wtf was I thinking...

I really don't want to buy more baskets and convert them to nests. Guess I'll dig up a bunch of cardboard boxes...

$327 currently in the red. Minus 470 in feed. Ugh, gotta get rid of buns I don't need...

$797 currently in the red.

Half sisters. So different, yet so similar. Older due next week.
11×swirl vs zero×swirl.
