I’ve been calling this Poor Joe. Wrong. When I googled Poor Joe, it wasn’t this. This is a winter/cool season plant, sheep like it. It’s going to seed now, not so tasty.

I always thought this was some kind of clover. Nope. It’s a type of Oxalis. This is wood sorrel. The leaves are heart shaped, clover leaves are rounded, with a few variaties have pointed leaves

We'd chew the sorrel as kids. Heck even now!

This rates about the same as animal crackers with my sheep. They LOVE this stuff. That pic is pretty much a new plant - it can get VERY BIG and woody --- and the sheep still like it.

My iPhone is old. 7+. When I click on the i button, it gives me info about the photo, but no look up option. Oh well.

I learn something every day. I knew this plant was an oxalis of some sort. I too always thought it was a clover. Therefore, I always assumed clovers were in the oxalis family. Now I know they are not related.

That wood sorrel has a nice tangy sour flavor that tastes good in salads
