This is a property tax appraisal statement for my county and part of my property.

As you can see;
They appraise the land itself. (per acre)
They also appraise the improvements (house, utilities, well, wastewater treatment, road etc)
Then they have an appraisal for the "Ag Market Value". (If I had left trees, there would be one for timber market value). That is not what the property appraises at--it is what the market value of the 'production' of the land is appraised at.
The difference between what the district appraises the land and house for and and what they appraise the ag value at is the 'exemption' basis.

My exemptions are:
ag-self explanatory.
OA-over age 65.
HS-homestead--the house and one acre my yard and 8 yr old home sits on.
