Welcome from Norhern NY!!! Syracuse is nice. I bought my rabbits around there.
LaManchas are great dairy goats. Twins can have problems during delivery. Were both the bucks okay? I hope your Easter kid or kids turn out great!
What do you keep Angoras for? They are great for fiber, but are a pain in the neck to groom, and get fur mats all.the.time.

It was a textbook birth! About 3 hours from when we noticed the mucous plug to the 2nd kid delivered, and both presented perfectly. They were 7.5 and 7 lbs at birth respectively, up and nursing within 15 minutes. She didn't need any assistance at all, and has been a very attentive mother! Fingers crossed that our second kidding experience is just as easy.

I love our angoras, we have them just for wool right now (and the culls for meat), but we do hope to show in the future. Grooming isn't a big issue for us, I think the French tend to mat a lot less than English. We give them a combing and a blow out once a week for regular grooming, and daily when they're blowing coats.

Nice! I'm over near the VT border. And don't worry, we always appreciate goat pics! (My husband is tired of talking about goats so I come here for my goat fixes! Lol)

Welcome :frowglad you joined us! We raise French angora rabbits-what colors do you have?

Right now, we have one each of black, Tort, and fawn does, and one black and one seal buck, plus 9 week old kits-4 black does, 1 REW doe, and a black buck. We lost our best mama a few weeks ago to what we are assuming was a broken spine-went out to the barn one morning to find her hindquarters were paralyzed. After a few days with no improvement we had to put her down. :(

How about you? Are your buns wool, or show (or both)?

Sorry to hear about your doe, that is a bummer :(

My DD(17) and DS(11) show them as part of their 4-H project at our county fair. We are also learning to spin the fiber. We have 3 French Angora bucks-an REW, a Chestnut and a broken blue and 4 French Angora does-a fawn(might be due), a tort(she has 4 kits), a chinchilla(she has 7 kits) and an REW. We also have an REW satin angora doe.

:frow Hi again, @lemonpoppyseed. :welcome I welcomed you a while ago, on your Arnica post.

And another big Texas welcome! I think you'll find there are a lot of us from the big, beautiful state of Texas. We are a mighty friendly bunch!!! And we love to see all the goat pics you want to post!!! :clap

I love the photos of your little LaMancha bucklings. They are darling! I know @Southern by choice, will love to see your little guys. She is partial to LaMancha's AND bucklings/wethers.

I have an 11 day old buckling, that was just weathered on Monday. We had a BYH gathering, here, at our little farm and he was disbudded and castrated. He is my first kid, from a LaMancha doe - a single. I just got her on Feb 8th along with another pregnant LaMancha doe, that is due on April 11th. The way she is shaping up, it looks like she may go a bit early (from the looks of her udder) and might just drop another single. A doeling would be nice. :fl She isn't looking all that big right now.
