One of the ladies at church has milk goats! I asked her if I could pick her brain within the next few years to do milk goats.

Ya know, NOT every goat needs to be shown, or used for more than being a good friend & milker. keep that in mind as you consider the possibility of "at home dairy" . It's all true about shows, 4H, milk testing, etc....but, being a lot older, way past kids & grandkids, I can attest to just enjoying my goats and the products they give me! Just saying --

IF you like and just want some good milk, your first experience -- with 2 munchkins not ready to do much more than hug them -- could be a youngish, already trained milk goat. You can always move to more, later. . You'll learn on them in many ways!

23 months. We are supposed to be weaning him off the bottle but it makes life easier and so far hasn't been causing issues. We have started training him a little to potty train, but we are worried he will regress a bit when the baby comes so we haven't been pushing it too much.

He babbles a ton, and added several new words in the past week or so. Sometimes you can understand what he's saying, and sometimes only he knows what he meant. But sometimes he says a couple sentences or a whole paragraph, just not words we can understand.

I still need to get hubby to install the t posts so I can trellis the last row of black beans. They are trying to grow up and grab something, and falling over into the other row without anything to grab onto.

I didn't see bean pods on the pinto beans but I only looked at a few of the plants. They are liking their trellis and seem to be getting taller. The pods pictured in the previous post are in the black bean row. I'm super excited I might actually grow beans!

Some of the non-deer chomped okra actually looks like it's growing well. I am pretty excited to see how that does too. So far none of the pea seeds I tried to start are coming up. Dunno if they all died or if I need to give them more time. I took out the sungold tomato plant since it looked dead and put the tomatillo in that bed. Hopefully I didn't traumatize it too much trying to get it through and around the tomato cages. It was quite sprawling. It looks like it's already trying to fruit too, so if it doesn't die after being transplanted, I might get tomatillos and can try making salsa. There are 3 more tomatoes I still need to transplant. I was trying to get them into the raised beds but I might just stick them in the ground and call it done.

Baby is here!! Another quick -ish labor. At least this time I knew what it was supposed to feel like and we got to the hospital before my water broke. Got there around 4:30 am, munchkin 2 was born at 5:53 am. 5 pounds 11 ounces and 19" long. Little guy for being 39 weeks 1 day. We are doing good.

Congrats!! All the workin' you've been doing the past week or so sure sounded to me like that last energy spurt before munchkins appear . Glad all went well.
