So the LGD pen is done. Inside is 4'x12' and outside is 9.5'x12'. The sheep have investigated and approve.

It's flooding again! The local airport recorded 2.1" but it feels like a LOT more. And the wind blew lid off feed drum so my new 3 bags of feed got wet. :( All sheep are in the dryer side and water diverting thru wet side and out. Sigh, the pond has backed up almost to sheep shed.

AAARRRGGHHH! Where was this in July and August? And when it’s nasty outside and you’d love to be warm, cozy and DRY in the house, I KNOW where you are! You are outside, trenching and digging to try to route water away from your beloved sheep.
You are a good shepherd, caring for your sheep. Still raining here. I hope the rain stops soon for you.

Geesh, is this flooding an annual event? So many areas have drought, then others are over the top! Doesn't seem fair....I know. My area is over aver for year, yet NW of me extremely dry -- just coming out of light drought. 😕

@Mini Horses I'm going to go with annual massive rainfall at least once in fall or winter.
2021: January we got ~2" as snow & ice
2022: August immense rainfall ~6" causing flooding.
2023: We got 4" in November plus this ~2" now.

The biggest issue is my property has only 2 foot of elevation change across 1500ft length. So everything floods.

Maybe a lowered catch basin could help concentrate some for you during the downpours. Hi I'm fortunate to have a nice, gradual slope on my entire farm...to a wooded, area with a water run going a couple miles to the river. It's a blessing.

Yeah, looks like you do have annual excesses. 🫤

My farm is fairly flat, water piles up. We get a lot of rain all at once sometimes, it’s fairly common. @Margali is in west Texas, I’m in East Texas, not a whole lot of distance between us. I’m guessing a 3 hour drove. We both get drought, we both get massive downpours, that’s just what it is. There is land on my road that has more slope, more elevation, than mine.

Margali you have made big improvements on your barn. Hang in there.
