I was letting my old cattle dog out last week at 4 a.m. Standing in the doorway, fully lit up door/porch and outside lights. A car drove down the hill; headlites hit me. What a startling image that must have been! Old woman in a tee shirt and no pants, just panties.

So my morning was VERY productive. I got a section of the property line with neighbors cleared of scrub trees and bagged a bunch of trash. All those brush piles are new...

My SIL came over and was willing to help me clear part of the back fence line. I wanted to cut down the scrub trees, she said her jeep could handle them. She was right. What killed the jeep was the 2ft deep hole from a root ball that was hidden by a light layer of leaves. That used to be her steering.

There is an auction March 18th in San Anglo with consignment of bred commerical katahdins. Then the April 15th field day with treaty sale! Plus I'm on the waitlist for multiple breeders. So many opportunites for sheep.
Now the hard part- bred commerical vs purbred vs BUY THEM ALL!

Always buy them all as an option.
If bred commercial are at least couple months along, you'll recoup $ faster, plus sell does if unimpressed. Butcher doesn't care about papers.
Now, if you want herd improvement and reg are top notch ones, buy them. The preg commercials could finance more of those. I look at cost, recoup time and quality. I have goats but, same idea. Some of my commercials are as good quality as my reg.
. They're here to make babes to sell or replenish/grow herd. My bucks are reg, good quality producers. There's your $. Look at your market for sales. Your goals?
