Alexa has been known to record and play back private information. I think they were supposed to be fixing that, but I don't trust Alexa.
We have double barn doors to the laundry room; they have windows in them since the laundry doesn't have any windows. I love the look and the ease of installation. We also have a pocket door into the living room from the back hall. If you hang a heavy solid door it is less likely to jump the track than a hollow core door. Lightweight hollow core doors jumping the track are what caused most of the problems on the old pocket doors. We also have a pair of narrow pocket doors on our closet since there wasn't enough room to have a solid door open into the hallway between the master bath and bedroom.
Good planning is essential in either building your own home or remodeling. Unfortunately, our Texas house is short on outlets. They have the minimum number that were required in 1972 when the house was built. DS is very sad that I won't let him open up all the walls to put in more outlets.
