Are you selling Snickers, to get another ram? Or are you going to keep him , he is so gentle and sweet.

He's not psycho but I'm not sure I would call him sweet. He is manageable which is good enough. I will keep him until I have a self black or brown ram on property since he gives good babies.

The sale barn called back and gave the following numbers for dorper crosses:
40lbs: $80 - 100
50lbs: $100 - 150
60lbs: $120 - 150
80+lbs: $160 - 200
Last weight I had was 24lbs in July at 2 months old so they will be going to auction Friday night. I might try to get a good weight on one tonight, we'll see how my rodeo skills fair.

Undecided about Coconut. I may wait until I can get a weight. She may just be in an ugly stage.

For the sale barn, they are white Dorper crosses. Katahdins are unknown. The choices are Dorper, wool, or Barbados.

Coconut is still young so may just be going through the "uglies". Since she is a ewe she won't drop in what she brings next yer if you decide to send her to auction then. Or you could take her to that sale you went to last year when you had the only ewe lamb for sale and got her sold immediately. As a yearling you could ask a much higher price for Coconut at that sale.

Biggest is 74lbs and the other 2 aren't much smaller. The baby sling barely fit around him.

So should come in around $150-$200 each. So x 4 rams/wethers= $600-800 minus the yardage and commission. Should buy some more fencing or panels.

DH and I will have to go to south TX for some more jug panels and gates from the companies you told me about. Don't want to spend the money but need the jugs for oambing. I packed up wome garden fencing that is 3' wide by 30" tall and fits together with pins. I am hoping to make some usable temporary jugs with it. It is not very high but the ewes with newborn lambs don't usually try to jump out so . The tops are made with spikes but wll attach a 1x4 to the tops for safety. Or I can put them together upside down.

My only registered daughter of Ringo, from my BTX ewe, is bred by Cooper. Her first lamb was a white ram, stolen by Sentry, dead. Maybe she’ll have a colored ram this time. I also have 3 HSC ewes, bred by Little Ringo. The BTX ewe chose Rocky as her baby daddy. She is a big red ewe and had colored babies on her last lambing. Maybe one of these will have something that interests you.

It seems that most of my colored lambs come from the ewes on the breed up program. One of these days I’ll have a field of colored up registered ewes.

Blah.
Work sucked and I had to hotdesk at Joe Stupid's station. He has fixed monitor stand set for stupid tall people so ended up working on just my laptop monitor so I didn't get a crick in my neck. The traffic turned trip home into endurance test.

I finally made it home and went to work loading up the 3 wether. Got flat on trailer aired up, hooked up first try. Easily caught the sheep and chucked them into back of trailer.

Then I managed to drop tire into rut with a bang on the narrow driveway. Got out to check and heard hissing air. By the time Alijah got trailer leveled out, Highlander unhooked and out of the way, tire was entirely flat.

We hooked up trailer and made it to sale barn hour before close. Guy accepting animals said I had fine sheep. So I should have some profit left after fixing my tire.
