Well last night trying to feed her was like trying to handle a 2 headed min Giraffe, LOl..... she was quite the wild child, walking all over, would not hold still, was a bratt about the bottle, tryed to do a run jump thing..... ( she is till wobbly on her legs but getting better and better.) Talked up a storm and kept me on my toes most the night. Today was a nice warm day so I moved her out on the back porch where I had set up a play pen with carpet covered in stall shavings. She has been up and down, back and forth, drinking her bottle ( I bought a new large puppy bottle with a human baby type nipple) and mom gets to come up to her and nuzzle her and talk. She is standing longer and longer.. Well, I wanted her to be active...... it's like someone pulled the plug and all of a sudden she feels good...... hehe

My DH and I have been following this thread from the beginning. He comes in every night and asks "How's Peaches today?". Our thoughts and prayers continue to come your way!

Glad to hear she's doing better! Frisky just means she's loving life! Glad to hear that mom is interested in her, too! Do you plan to have her mother take over once she's able to handle it?

It usually takes a day or two for the antibiotics and other medicines to work and it seems like all at once they just start to kick in!

I've been rooting for Peaches too. Wonderful news to hear that she's acting so spunky!

Today is her last day of Baytril,...... last nite was another baby llama rodeo....... She kept trying to do this buck thing, but she is just getting her balance back... so it is hilarious to watch. She likes the new bottle better and eats better out of it. I haven't tubed her any more, just trying to do more feedings. When she gets full all at one time she goes to sleep all day, if I give small feedings she has been much more active and less belly aches. I swear I'm going to have to make a mock llama udder and attach the bottle. She trys to suck on everything except her ba ba......boxes, cabinets......legs..... then I have to get her in a head lock to keep her on it until she gives up and stays sucking longer then a sec. :D

I'll get another pic soon.

Zinc. If you get some Zinpro, I know it is a quarter teaspoon for alpacas so I would probably double it for llamas. Given orally. She also might have mites. Is the skin like elephant skin? Then I would get Camelid Skin Mix to put on her and do Ivomec for 3 times 10 days apart.

Also, is that halter on her all the time? If it is, can you take it off?
