I noticed her little bottom teeth are coming in. She is trying to walk all over , though still looks like she is walking on bowed straws, :D but getting better at it and standing longer. She is pooing better and I think her new nick name is stinky..... I have to wash everything and put down some more scrap carpet. Hoping it will be nice enough to make her a little play pen on the back porch with baby play panels and some shavings. that way mom can spend more time with her and I can just bring her in at night.

That is just the cutest thing ever! We had a very young cria that we bottle raised, but she wasn't as small as peaches! You're doing great, and it sounds like everything is going very well :celebrate

Do you have BoSe? I would get 1/2 cc of Bose into her. It will help her legs.
What is it and where can i find it? :D

It is selenium. It is vet Rx. A bottle of it is not expensive. Your goats could use it too. You can inject it SQ.

Hummm. my vet is out of town. I have a goat vitamin E & Selenium orange gel paste in the wormer type tube..... could that work?

If so how much can i give?

Here is what is says in Jeffers:

A unique combination of Selenium Selenite and Vitamin E at levels designed for goats.

Both the Selenium Selenite and Vitamin E are ALL NATURAL.

Selenium and Vitamin E Gel is in a Real Gel base that melts at body temperature so when administered it will not roll off the tongue.

The Vitamin E level is 500 IU per 5mLl (cc) dose. The maximum level of Selenium is at 3 ppm per animal. Each 5mL (5cc) dose contains 2.5 ppm of Selenium.

This product is to be used as the sole source of Selenium.

A butterscotch flavor has been added for increased palatability

80 mL dial-a-dose tube contains (16) 5 mL doses.

You could use that but I'm not sure of dosage. I guess whatever it says for goats. Hopefully they give some sort of weight dosage. I like the injectible better but I would get selenium in this cria as fast as possible so the paste will have to do. I think other alpaca breeders have used the paste but most I know use the BoSe.

I have used the injectable orally before with a WILD goat and it worked. I wasn't paying super close attention to the time frame of effectiveness/absorption though. She was having weak pastern issues and it helped eh with in a week or three. Again, I really wasn't documenting anything.
