The Arnicare does help with arthritis pain. BJs fingers were so crooked, they all went different directions.

Funny story. His fingers hurt so much, were so swollen and crooked, he couldn’t close his hand to make a fist. One day I asked him to get me a bottle of gin. I don’t drink, he asked me why. I told him I just wanted it. Every once in awhile I’d remind him about the bottle of gin. Finally one day he brought me a bottle of gin.
BJ: if you are gonna drink this stuff, I got you the best there is. Tangeray.

That meant nothing to me. I opened the bottle, took a sniff, ick.

Me: that stuff smells like aftershave lotion. How do people drink this stuff!

I went to the pantry, got a box of raisins, filled a pint jar half full and covered them with the gin. BJ watched with great interest. I put the lid on and pushed it up against the counter backsplash.

BJ: what is that for?

Me: you.

BJ: me? For what?

Me: the arthritis in your hands. Let it soak for three days, then take a spoonful every day. It will reduce the inflammation and pain.

He waited impatiently for 3 days, then took a heaping spoonful. His shout of disgust and gross probably could’ve been heard around the block.

BJ: are you trying to kill me? That’s the nastiest stuff I ever tasted!

Me: yeah it’s bad, but it works. Keep taking it, you’ll see.

He took a spoonful every morning followed by cries of disgust and lots of complaining. About a week later, he could close his hands in a fist. He couldn’t believe it. His hands didn’t hurt.

It doesn’t work for everybody, but it does work for a lot of people. For those, it’s a game changer. Old wives tales says take 3 or 4 raisins, but being BJ, if a little is good, a lot is better mentality, he took a heaping spoonful. Maybe that’s why he got such fast results. But be prepared, BJ said he never ate sh!t, but if he did, that’s what it would taste like.

A few rounds of gin and raisins seemed to unlock his joints. Then I switched him to a paste of turmeric and coconut oil. That kept down the inflammation and pain.

Then I discovered Arnicare and added that too. He could rub it in his hands, sore muscles and joints and actually feel the pain go away.

I tried the raisins before with no success. I hope the Arnica works for me! The turmeric definitely helped my inflammation but now it’s contraindicated with one of my meds☹️

But yeah, without hands I can’t do anything. I’ve seen the videos of people who have to use their feet and can only wish I was still that flexible 🫤

@Devonviolet makes a tincture with the wild lettuce. She gave me some powdered wild lettuce. I got a bottle of vodka, followed her directions and made a quart jar of tincture. I took some after my knee replacement.
She and her husband gather the wild lettuce along the country roads where they live. I think she grows some too.

@Baymule and @peteyfoozer .... The wild lettuce, how'd it work for you? Much may depend on how you take/use. Probably some growing around here but, haven't looked. Plantain, I'm loaded. I have mullein and read where in past some smoked it to clear lungs. I don't smoke. Thankfully no lung issues either!

Actually there are many "weeds" that have medicinal qualities growing around me. I'm delving more deeply into ID and uses. I have an old plum tree dying and saw a good group of turkey tail mushrooms growing on the trunk. No idea how spore got there but, it IS true turkey tail.
Researching, I find it's pretty well tested in trials. See that "cognitive thinking" plus reduce fatigue? 🤣🥰 Really?
